LASTING IMPRESSIONS
(FOR SEAN)
Your words weigh
down on me, and
Like the ant,
carrying its treasure,
I'll do my best to
keep them with me
For the length
of where I go:
It is good,
it is good!

Note: Every now and then, in our journeys, we encounter other souls who touch our lives profoundly. Sean was such a person. An accomplished poet, he was the first person ever to read my work, critique, encourage and champion it. He went on to become my mentor, as well as one of my very dearest friends. Obviously, this poem was written for and about him.
More recently I've been thinking about other profoundly touching "happenings" in my life, and I've come to think of them as "diamond dust" moments.
The "image" posted here was created from a scan I did of a recently purchased (for special intent) folder. Unfortunately, metallic doesn't scan well... I assure you, it went in all sparkly, lol.

Hellebore sounds like some monster from Greek myth, perhaps another Titan that Zeus or Hercules had to grapple with. It's actually a modest little flower that likes to keep its long-lasting head bowed low to the ground, hiding its loveliness. It gets its name from the potent toxins in its roots, but the ancients also used it to treat insanity and other ailments. #hellebore #dontbiteme #spring #flowers #springflowers #color #blue #centralpark #conservatorygarden #manhattan #harlem #ues #newyork #nyc #petersealystudio #newyorkartist

I wore this today in honor of a fellow photographer, former colleague and a friend. He made a lasting impression on me. Bless you George Parrish.
I bought this tomato the day after Christmas. The picture was taken March 1st. The tomato is still hard and there is no sign of decay other than wrinkling of the skin.

I flew from JFK to FL to see Mom with a couple of my cousins (more pics of them tomorrow since today is older Muriel's b.d. - we made homemade pineapple upside-down cake to celebrate in May) Wish I could be visiting today as she does too!
I finished in my job this week and they bought me this beautiful Orchid. I don't just find them beautiful but pretty spectacular flowers. To capture a bud, a half open and fully open flower in one shot is not always easy, but Orchids just hand you this gift.
