we have this great collection (12 total) of real bug specimens in lucite cubes, but they aren't labeled. so i gave T the important "job" of identifying them (using the cards that came with the specimen set) and create labels for them. i knew this activity would be a big hit, as he loves to use my p-touch labeler even more than he loves bugs.

Riomaggiore (Rimazùu in the local Ligurian language) is a village and comune in the province of La Spezia, situated in a small valley in the Liguriaregion of Italy. It is the first of the Cinque Terre one meets when travelling north from La Spezia.
The village, dating from the early thirteenth century, is known for its historic character and its wine, produced by the town's vineyards. Riomaggiore is in the Riviera di Levanteregion and has shoreline on the Mediterranean's Gulf of Genoa, with a small beach and a wharf framed by tower houses. Riomaggiore's main street is Via Colombo, where numerous restaurants, bars and shops can be found.
The Via dell'Amore is a path connecting Riomaggiore to its frazione Manarola, also part of the Cinque Terre.
Riomaggiore is the most southern village of the five Cinque Terre, all connected by trail. The water and mountainside have been declared national parks.
Riomaggiore inspired paintings by Telemaco Signorini (1835–1901), one of the artists of the Macchiaioli group.
Urmia (Turkish language: Urmu, Urmiyə, اورمیه; farsi: ارومیه) variously translitterated as Oroumiyeh, Orūmīyeh and Urūmiyeh, is a city in and the capital of West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 577,307, with 153,570 households.
The city lies at an altitude of 1,330 m above sea level on the Shahar Chay river (City River). Urmia is the 10th most populated city in Iran. The population is mainly mainly Azerbaijanian Turkish(85-90%), with Kurdish, Assyrian Christian, and Armenian minorities.
Urmia is situated on a fertile plain called Urmia Plain, on western side of Lake Urmia; and eastern side of Turkish border and marginal range of mountains.
Urmia is the trade center for a fertile agricultural region where fruit (especially Apple and Grape) and Tobacco are grown. An important town by the 9th cent., Urmia was seized by the Seljuk Turks (1184), and later occupied a number of times by the Ottoman Turks.
Urmiye (Türkçesi:اورمو, Urmu, اورمیه, Urumiyə;Farsça: ارومیه, Orumieh), İran'ın Batı Azerbaycan Eyaleti'nin yönetim merkezi olan şehir. Şehir, bağlı olduğu eyaletin orta kısmında, Urmiye Gölü ile Türkiye sınırı arasında, kendi adıyla anılan ovada kuruludur. This exciting, college-for-a-day experience introduces more than 600 Wisconsin high school students and their teachers to many of the world languages and cultural topics offered at UW-Madison. The event, which features faculty, students and staff, aims to inspire students to pursue a second or third language regardless of their educational and career goals.

The word ‘Lammas’ comes from the old English language, meaning ‘loaf mass’. It is a harvest festival, a celebration of the Earth’s bounty which traditionally was held at the time of the cutting of the first corn crop. In Ireland it is known as Lughnassah, the name being derived from the old Celtic sun-God Lugh. It is one of the four ancient Pagan Celtic Fire fire festivals.
A regular summer event since 2001, The Eastbourne Lammas Festival is a friendly family oriented free festival of music, dance and entertainment held on the Western Lawns. Organised by The Eastbourne Lammas Festival Committee and run entirely by volunteers, the festival raises money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI); generous festival-goers have donated over £10,500 since the festival began.
Along with the variety of music from the bands on the main stage and Morris dance displays, the highlights of the weekend are the seafront procession, the drumming, the open air ceilidh and the ritual celebration of Lammas. And when not watching the music and dance there are variety of stalls, crafts, storytelling and demonstrations on the festival site + a beer tent and food stalls to keep the festival crowd busy
