A place for you

A yellow-crowned night heron (Nyctanassa violacea) coming in for a landing. I was following it from a distance but just before it arrived some reeds came between us. Nevertheless, firing off shots left one in which there was a clean line of sight to the head, while the rest of the bird was left partially obstructed. I suspect this is the reason behind the low contrast. I very much like the overall look. Unfortunately, it isn't a look that I could easily replicate.

I was able to time this guy easier than most Butterflies. Bees are fairly easy but Butterflies can be challenging. When they get close to a flower, if it doesn't look just right, they don't land.

A former church converted to a house in Shodack Landing, NY. I do not know the denomination.

Our airport in summer heat, just after the jet landed, compressed by telephoto and cropping. I had to wait till it was taxing back because this vantage point is closed at the actual landing time. The hills in the background are 13 km away according to Google map. Have a good weekend and safe travelling if you are.
