The FOUNDING LAB is a collaborative effort between the Institute of Digital Sciences Austria (IDSA) and Ars Electronica. Its aim is to identify, develop, and present new areas, approaches, and formats that address the challenges of digital transformation. By overcoming disciplinary boundaries, it confronts the contradictory and conflicting realities of today and cultivates the skills to navigate an increasingly digital world.

Liam Gilbertson - This is my image for drawing paper on paper - I wanted to define properties of paper within my image and decided to make a origami tree, as paper comes from trees, and I thought the irony of making a tree out of paper was humorous. The pattern in the background is the cuts and folds required to make an origami tree
The 12th annual Capitol City Brewing Oktoberfest, organized by the Arlington, Virginia, brewpub of the same name. More than 40 breweries poured more than 160 beers from keg and bottle.

NYC Media Lab's Annual Summit presented a snapshot of the best thinking, projects, and talent in digital media across the City’s universities. Hosted September 19, 2014, the event was organized in collaboration with the School of Media Studies at the New School.
This was an opportunity for media executives, technologists, and decision makers to see university prototypes and demonstrations that explored interesting technologies and applications related to digital media and communications, encompassing data, video, mobile, interfaces, and interactive design.

Following the Orpheus’ workshop cycle where young writers and composers were invited to work on the myth of Orpheus and present an opera project, the creative team composed of Nuno da Rocha (composer) and Rita Fernandes (writer) met again in Helsinki for their first LAB in August 2016. For their second LAB they were joined by Portuguese director Pedro Ribeiro.
The creative team had the opportunity to develop further their project with the presence of an instrumental ensemble and an actress for the spoken role.
