...an LS3 V8 swap putting out 430-something horsepower.

 

The owner runs the Crate Engine Depot out of Rock (née Rockenbach) Chevrolet on the other side of town, and put this in place of the original 13,000mi 2.8L V6. He gave me a ride in this car, and let me say I haven't experienced acceleration like that since riding Top Thrill Dragster many years ago (although I like his "I haven't been shoved into a car seat like that since dating in high school" story better).

Running a 6.2L LS3

Borowski Race Engines has designed built and released a new nitrous option for its naturally aspirated line of LS engines. This LS3 based 416 cubic inch engine makes 620HP on motor and 845HP on spray. The Holley HP handles the fuel and the Nitrous Outlet puck in the bottom of the intake plenum handles the N2O. It's a very stealth setup once you mount the solenoid in the firewall. We further disguise the braided N2O line within a vacuum hose for a totally stealth set up. When the N20 is armed, Holley is programmed to turn on at a designated RPM, add fuel, retard timing and turn off over a set RPM. A couple of things we did to safeguard the engine are that it kills the N2O program if it gets too fat or too lean in the case of running out of fuel, fuel pressure or N2O. Our goal is to offer a simple to use and install naturally aspirated engine that will out perform the new supercharged cars. We think we've succeeded.
