Vic Viper for Novvember 2019

Downtown Records is a modular record shop, ready and waiting to take it’s place in your LEGO city, I have packed it with brick built detail as well as custom printed parts (two of my favourite things about LEGO sets). I will gradually be revealing more of this project over time, but to start with I have revealed images of the building from the front, the side and the record store interior.

In total, Downtown Records contains about 3000 bricks and is divided into three sections. The bottom section includes a street scape including traffic light and crossing, leafy tree (I am particularly happy with how the tree turned out – I only had to rebuild it four times!) and a small news stand. Inside on the ground floor of the building there is the record store itself with shelves bulging with custom printed records on 2×2 tiles, a bathroom, and access to the staircase leading upstairs.

My aim with the design of the facade was to create a believable downtown two storey brick-faced building with stucco detailing and ornate architectural cornicing.

So if you would like to help make Downtown Records a real LEGO set, it’s free to support, all you need to do is head on over to LEGO Ideas, sign up for an account and hit that blue support button!

Ever since I saw the Hornby advert in my magazine from April I’ve wanted to recreate this pack. For me the colors are so pleasing and I’m very content.

It is a slightly updated picture of my Gothic Cathedral which was designed originally to Bricklink Designer Program Series 1. I have received many kind comments and support, but unfortunately it has not been selected, therefore I decided to make the instructions available here:

Macku, tasked by Turaga Nokama to hide a Great Kanohi Hau, set sail and stumbled upon a strange formation rising from the ocean. She was struck by a large tree that had stubbornly decided to grow upon it, with roots wrapping around the hand-like structure. If such a tree could grow and thrive here, she knew it would a perfect protector for the mask. She placed the mask in the tree's trunk, to await whoever was fated to find it. Her quest completed, she found herself returning to the strange island often, simply to relax in solitude with her fishing rod, day-dreaming about a certain athlete from Po-Koro who didn't know how to swim. Maybe she could offer him lessons...

For the LEGO IDEAS BIONICLE contest. I wanted to do something a bit different instead of my usual Toa builds as I'm still vibing with the more nature build stuff I've been doing lately. With brickfair and some family obligations I didn't have a lot of time, but I'm still pretty happy with how it came out. My goal was a more concept art style build that had some early BIONICLE nature and machine in harmony and MNOG slice-of-life vibes. And as Maku/Macku was my first or second BIONICLE set ever, it felt appropriate for her to star in the MOC. Especially since wow did she get the short end of the stick later on.

(I know it's not a palm tree, but the pun was too good to let slip from my grasp.)

Doing some proportion tweaking for a pannier design.

For Chairs lovers, Design lovers, Mini-model lovers and simply to all who love to sit back and relax or just love to enjoy some good classic and minimalist furniture, this idea is really a match to your lifestyle.

Don't be fooled by the image size right away! With 150 x 200 x 180 mm you'll have a blast building this wooden chair that really works.

Fold and unfold it the many times you want because this creative project is built with almost 450 pieces and which makes the price tag to fit under the 49.99$.

You could take some time out and enjoy creating this LEGO design piece to display at your home. It also could be offered as a cool gift for Birthday or Christmas to a truly fan model if this turns out to be a real LEGO model.

Enjoy your time in your lawn or at the beach.

Breath in... breath out...

A small Lego city alleyway build, used for some of my Super Hero shots.

My newest building is inspired by a condo featured in one of my favorite new TV series, Orphan Black, filmed on location in Toronto.

One of my builds that has been on the "back-burner" for a long time. This is the 550SC from Ford's F series, the biggest of the models available. A different build for me compared to my supercars, but a lot of fun.

Specs: It measures around 20 long, 7 wide, and almost 7 vertical studs tall. The inside of the Cab is so complex I can't really explain, so I may post a picture of it in the future.

As always, ideas or constructive criticism is welcome!

Thanks for Looking!

Stop over for a cup of coffee. Put your feet up and we'll listen to some vinyl.

In the fantasy realm of Cretacia, humans once were at the top of the food chain and thrived alongside the wild living, mostly huge creatures they called Din'Athoria. Soon the human domisticated these beasts, keeping the large herbivors as kettle whilst training the smaller, more agile and intelligent carnivors (called Raptas) as hunting aides and the bigger, less smart but so much stronger ones for plowing fields for the endless mass of plants they needed to feed the large herbivors.

It was like that for 200 years and never did the scribes anticipate that this should ever change, but through the continuing training the Raptas got more and more intelligent, at some point gained conscience and more specific language and one day (the day the old and wise Fellow-Raptas now call the day of the free claw) the Raptas overthrew the humans and enslaved them. The new ruling species still keeps large herbivors as kettle (whereas only for the meat) and big carnivors as laborers, but the once so dominant and eloquent humans are now field hands, construction slaves, servants and sometimes pets. Under the heavy claws of their enslavers, every attempt of human interaction is stricktly forbidden for gruesome punishment follows and at some point, humans lost their clever ways, their community and language completely.

So, no riding dinosaurs in Cretacia, forget about that, chum!

What can be seen here is the great Fellow-Rapta Sir Veelo of the Long Tail, wealthy land owner and fodder producer, inspecting the daily field work on his estates. The human slaves don't have names, they wouldn't understand the concept anymore. They are supervised by Fastjaw of the Sharp Talon, a more humble but nevertheless as vicious Rapta, Sir Veelos foreman in charge of the daily crop growing enterprise.

This is a figbarf for the Brickscalibur 2022 contests Farmstead Figures category. And... this is a wrap! I participated in all of the six categories and it was a blast, I had lots of fun!! Thank you everybody, especially the people running this fine contest. See you at the Forge!

(Yep, there are swords in there^^)

In a glade shadowed by pine trees lies this house. It has a large terrace (to some extent inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater) and a cosy conservatory with garden view.

It might not be my most complex build so far, but it's still one of of my hardest to finish. In April, after years and years of hard work as a legal counsel with high speed approach and self-imposed performance requirements, I ran out of energy. My brain stopped co-operating and I lost my ability to focus. Since then, I have been struggling to recover and to find a balance both at work and in my creative process with LEGO. Thus, finishing Pineglade House MOC means a lot to me and I'm glad that I'm now on a more sustainable path ahead.

2017 was a blast.

Thank you all, guys, for your likes and comments.

Always waste your time well - keep on building!

A fun little build with some nice curb appeal. Big fan :)

The Michigan LEGO User Group's LEGO display at the Canton Liberty Fest is open to the public from June 16 to 18, 2016.

My model of the original Penobscot Building of 1905 dominates the city block in the foreground. With the exception of the small 2 story olive building and the 5 story dark orange building, I constructed the structures in this block ten years ago! All buildings in the other city blocks and all of the cars and trains were built by other club members.

The white building (built by another club member also named Jim) in the middle background is a short version of a mid-rise government building in Toledo, Ohio.

In addition to the train/town layout there are also Star Wars and Bionicle displays and a build table.

A detailed view at some of my favourite bits. Designing this model was lots of fun and LOTS of challenge. Having to do it in about three days with a competition deadline was.. interesting!

I designed a climbing gym made with Lego bricks. It is submitted on Lego Ideas.com. If it will gather 10000 supporters, it will gain the chance to become an official Lego set.

In only two weeks, it already gathered more than 1000 supporters and keep growing. The next milestone is at 5000 and it will give more time to the project.

With your help it might become reality!

Just take a couple of minute of your time, click the link below and find out all the cool details of the build! I hope you will enjoy it and you will login and support it!

My largest moc so far coming in at 48x46.

I finally got to try out using lights from light my brick and I love how they turned out.

Overall I'm happy with how this build turned out.

„I’m out!“, I screamed as I dove into cover. Shab, this was bad. We had not expected opposition before reaching the city limits, especially not in this force forsaken jungle! But then, out of nowhere, this di’kutla commando droids appeared. They had isolated us from the rest of our strike team and pushed us to the edge of a little landing pad. Bab, bap, bap! Sergeant Linx was hammering staccato salves of deece fire into the nearest clanker’s chest. I slung my rifle back over my shoulder. Where the shab was my knife? „Command, this is CT-8304, strike team theta. Hard contact! I repeat, hard contact! Sector 4.7. We need immediate backup!“ I shouted into the comlink. „Argh!“ A flesh of light passed me and Kilroy dropped to the floor, a smoking hole, where his chest should have been. „Man down!“ I screamed, but there was no-one to hear me. Linx was still laying down fire, as I pulled the remains of Kilroy to cover. „I repeat, we need backup, now!“ But I knew it was too late. Linx’s deece spat out its last bullet and he too drew his sword….

A closer look at my recent build for the Muunilinst collab. I think this might be one of my best cinematic shots, yet, and it feels like coming straight form the Clone Wars TV series. Do you agree?

Second build for the campaign "Blades Of Light" we are playing on www.RogueBricks.de (Nine Kingdoms LEGO RPG).

A group has to search a way through the swamps to find the "King Of The Winds". But there are creatures in the swamp you shouldn't make angry.

On www.RogueBricks.de we started to play our online LEGO RPG Nine Kingdoms again.

This time we had to build a MOC which shows the beginning of our first colony.

My settlers of the "Clan of Noormen" started to build a first wooden cottage - like they did back in old times in the kingdom of Kurvenheim.

In his last hours as his city’s defender, Lhikan knew the 6 matoran to become the next toa must be chosen wisely. But a dark presence lay in his mind. In our world, the Order of Mata Nui held sway over this darkness and the correct matoran were chosen. But in another world, this was not so.

In another universe Makuta Teridax was successful in pushing Lhikan to make the wrong choices. A team of misfits and traitors that would never stand united against the dark. One of these chosen matoran, was Teridax’s faithful servant Ahkmou, soon to be leader of this twisted version of the Toa Metru.

But something unexpected happened. Ahkmou, the once greedy po-matoran, who had only ever wanted the respect of his peers, had his dreams fulfilled. He held to his new responsibility, with dreams of duty and thoughts of destiny, and for the first time in his life made the right choice.

In the briefest of moments, Ahkmou and his team that never should have been, shone brightly to all the universe of the potential toa heroes they could be… But they were not strong enough; struck down by Teridax’s Rahkshi. Ahkmou fell to the poison blade of Lerahk, a near death of a thousand cuts as penance for his defiance, and became a servant of the Makuta’s will once again, now and for all time.

THE ATLANTEAN, RELIC OF THE OLD WORLD.

(Clash of the Deep series Pt. 2)

This is the second post of a series I built for the #Janubewary challenge hosted by @bricksandfables over on Instagram! The first arc of my series will focus on a small group of individuals that rise up to defend the seas against a new group of aquatic interlopers. The second of these is the Atlantean!

There exists a legend amongst pirates, fishermen, and all manner of seafarers, that tells of the dangers of taken sunken gold. Treasure from a shipwreck? Probably safe. But treasure from the ruins of the old world..? If one believes the legend: they know that those that plunder and loot from the ancient ruins typically don't survive long enough to try to sell their bounty on land. They call him the Atlantean. He hunts in silence, and spells doom for all those whom he sets his sights on. Said to be a sea-elf as old as civilization itself, this green-skinned, bronze-armored individual is fabled to be a protector of the ancient kingdom now in ruins, cursed to live for an eternity and make up for his failures to safeguard his homeland. Now, his trident and shield are practically bound to him, as he no longer knows a day without service to the sea.

Lately, however, folks on the sea have gotten bold. Every few weeks or so, a new relic of ancient significance seems to crop up, fetching a hefty bit of coin from collectors and art dealers. While it's great news for those passionate about the history of the old world, it bodes poorly for those that actually make their living on the sea. For if The Atlantean is too busy to pay looters any attention these days... something sinister must instead be lurking in the depths, drawing his ire. Ye who seek to turn a quick profit with a capable crew, rejoice for now, but beware. A keg of ale is a night well spent, but paid for in the morning. That is to say—a fell wind blows across the waves, and it may yet take us all.

This was my first project where I attempted to recreate a build from another user.

The ARBALETE was designed by shamisenfred, you can see his awesome build and photos here.

This hover tank is a lot of fun to play with, with the exception of the turret... The barrels are delicately attached and easily fall off if you're not careful. I'm hoping to look around for some other, sturdier gun designs to try instead. This turret does look pretty sick, though!

I've uploaded my parts list that I used for BrickLink orders here. Note that it's incomplete, but includes the uncommon bits like the cockpit glass, all of the wedges, and all of the wedge plates.

I've also uploaded my LDD design file. This version has the main subsections separated, and this version has them fully assembled.
