Nova Team is almost to the lift! Captain Knight and Lieutenant Erandis stand guard as Stargazer and Korren are just ahead attempting to get the lift to hanger bay opened. Unfortunately the team's Blacktron alien stalker is not far behind…

About time I build a classic ship from Star Wars. But I had two goals in mind:

1. Make it perfectly minifig scale, no matter how big or how small.

2. Use the most unconventional LEGO pieces and techniques to get the shapes and proportions without delving into “illegal” territory.

Needless to say, I think I nailed it. Measuring just under 22 studs long, this matches up with the canonical length of 6.9 metres or 21 feet.

As for the parts usage... I think you can see for yourself. There are also some old rare bits that cost me more than I anticipated.

What do you think about this version of Lego ART lineup?

This ship is uniquely capable of creating separations in spacetime and opening rifts in the fabric of the universe through which it can travel great distances in an instant.

She was my first MOC above 1000 pieces. She got multiple upgrades over the years and has been to multiple exhibitions. She sports a cargobed, a crane, a steering system and a cockpit with living space for long haul missions.

A Locomobile train again, in Ice planet style this time. The engines rods are moving mun more realistic than on the train before

This was built for WACKlug's Nexo Knight Fly-in for BrickCon 2017.

The reason it's taken me so long to post is it's the build I'm probably least happy with from the last few years. While there are some areas (head, neck, blast shield) that I came into with a solid vision and am satisfied with the execution of, there are many others that were rushed; hodgepodges of parts that I came at with no plan beyond a vague overall shaping, and didn't feel like taking the time to fix. The underside in particular is painfully embarrassing.

There is one other motorized function not shown: extendable landing gear. However the weight of the final build far exceeds the lifting capacity of 2 XL motors and it's pretty much impossible to demonstrate now.

The Swordfish V was the first ship built by Miles after taking over Doohan’s shipyard, following the older mechanic’s reluctant retirement in 2079. Miles took the Swordfish V as an opportunity to make all the changes and upgrades to the original ship that Doohan had always resisted: bigger engines, a second plasma cannon, more modern internal hardware; the lot. Miles’ “upgrades” though mostly served to make the spaceplane much more difficult to fly, particularly in the hands of a less-capable pilot.

I enjoyed SHIPtember a great deal this year, so thought I would build something for Nnovvember too! I also recently finished rewatching the always-excellent Cowboy Bebop (the anime, not the more recent Netflix adaptation), so thought I would combine the two, and build this Vic Viper variant of the Swordfish II. I also wanted to build a starfighter with retractable landing gear, which was something I have not really done before.

I have a second VV in the works too that I should hopefully finish and upload in the next week or so.

Electric bugs, endemic to planet Zetha, have developed a unique biological mechanism in their abdomen, that produces a large amount of electric energy. The bugs use it for two purposes: to communicate by light flares reflected by the half-transparent atavistic wings, and for defence. Being graminivorous, electric bugs have no natural enemies as with strong electrical discharges they can keep even molesaurs off.

As people colonized Zetha, they began using the bugs' electric bellies to top up the outback rover charging stations in seasons when the winds are scarce and there is not enough wind power.

An entry for Space Jam 2021.

I'm not afraid to say it: Best Theme ever! :) :) Let Classic Space come to your house

A small Blacktron attack craft I built for New Elementary using the grey backside of the NinjaGo Arcade Pods.

The top parts are Bionicle armour pieces from 2008-2009, added to this spaceship during a Bionicle-themed LondonAFOLs meet-up to convey a bit of alien technology into this angular craft.

Named after the Golden Poison Frog

My entries for the current Lego Ideas Contest "Create ART to be enjoyed by all!" Well, I hope this is being enjoyed by Classic Space Fans at least ! :)

Continuing my little series of life aboard Deep Space Outpost Arcturus. Here we have an orange-suited technician repairing a hydraulic-decoupler compensator for a nearby airlock with his trusty, early model Utility Droid UT-101. There are much more advanced droids in service throughout the Federation and posted on the station itself, but many of the engineers, technicians and maintenance workers have become fond of the old UT-series droids and still find them useful for many tasks. Luckily for the droids they work with such tech-minded humans who don’t mind repairing the aging droids from time to time and can cope with some of their technical oddities when they crop up.

:::: This is just a simple little droid I came up with, nothing too unique. The overall style is quite recognizable, having a Johnny 5 sort of look to him. But when I was building it I kept being reminded of this little toy robot I had when I was a kid. I think it may of been Micromachines or something from the late 80’s, early 90’s. The head was definitely inspired by Peter Reid's K3 Mechanoid and Luigi Priori's Mr. Robot. And the orange classic spaceman? Well you know I had to make one for myself ;- ) - just used the same waterslide decals I’ve been using for all my custom minifigs up to date.

The Nomad Class SHIPs are the backbone of the Explorer fleet - Each SHIP can be docked to two others for the long term interstellar travel.

Once at the destination the SHIP can split to explore various planets or two can continue onto their next destination.

So ends my most ambitious SHIPtember efforts ... Rule 1 of Government Spending: why have one, when you can have three, at triple the cost?

I based this build on the wonderful art form Colie Wertz's Nomad Cluster SHIP (www.artstation.com/artwork/mmov) which is a tri-SHIP combo.

Special thanks to wonderful Chris for feedback and early brainstorming, and all the folks in the Space Discord and Instagram.

Ice Planet 2002- Ice Station Ody-"PC"

Is it Ice Planet 2002? Is it a computer?

It's both!

Brickworld 2025's theme was "Braving the Elements", so here is my AIR cooled ICE PLANET pc with a little FIRE and hot WATER thrown in to get as many elements as possible.

It is my latest attempt to merge my two hobbies- LEGO MOCs and custom-built PCs into one build! The PC components are mounted using LEGO elements, meaning there is no metal frame or screws involved anywhere in this build. The open frame PC "case" can be lifted from the MOC (after discounting the USB powered black light in the main control tower and the probe launch tower to the right of the CPU cooling fan) by the built in technic handle. Though who would want to lose the sweet MOC its built into? Check out some of my older posts to see the LL HoRyzen for a PC built into an orange spaceship!

Gigabyte AORUS Pro AX B550I

32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro

Sapphire Pure Radeon 7800 XT

750-Watt Silver Stone ITX PSU

Yes, it can play Crysis :D

The Ice Planet MOC features all the classic Ice Planet hallmarks- a probe launch point and magnetic crane, neon orange accents and snowshoes, and a little spacecraft, modeled after a classic space fighter I previously built, but this time in Ice Planet trimmings. This built uses far less black than LEGO Ice Planet builds did- I substituted some dark blue into the doors instead, but kept the black on the probe. Some fun little LEGO stories going on as well with the Ice Planeteers bathing in the hot tube, the commander carving an ice sculpture, and the penguins roasting s'mores!

Early draft for a one man craft, for skimming the surface of Krysto. The colour palette has been widened from ice Planet 2002 to include dark blue and Azure. I’m not quite happy with the tail end at this stage, or the front, or the fact that it feels completely derivative of a snowspeeder - feed back/suggestions/blatant criticism welcome.

Roberwhal VF-25 is a racing speeder produced by Kuat Vehicles, a subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards, for team XtreMe Racing to be used in the Unlim class of the Galactic Speeder League. This project is the continuation of Roberwhal VF-20 model, however has very little in common with it. The two main Ionic engines used on VF-20 were replaceced with a single protonic power plant, while the lateral engines were made much more powerful and shifted to the back of the vehicle. The cockpit is now a classic one, and the model has more elaborated aerodynamics, which, coupled with widely spread rear repulsors, shall give the speeder more stability and make it a more universal racecraft well suitable for any kind of track.

Never mind the infallible precision radar guidance you'd need to land a freaking space rocket in an interior hangar accessible through a door barely wider than the rocket itself, interior hangars are cool. I was quite happy with the microscale retro-style rocket, but felt like it needed something more to complete the build; thus the hangar and port facility.

The Sapphire class shuttlecraft that would become so well-known across the galaxy began its life in 2511, when the Martian contracting branch of the Heorot Shipbuilding Corporation prototyped the X-511 Exo-Atmospheric Insertion Vehicle at Tigris Military Shipyard V. Conceived in response to the need for smaller and more flexible rapid insertion vehicles felt acutely by the ICNC during the Pirate War, the X-511 was of immediate interest to the military. The Naval Ordnance Board requested further prototyping, and the X-511 was stress-tested atmospherically on Mars, Europa, Venus, and later, the brown dwarf Indi B. In 2515, the Ordnance Board requested testing of a set of interchangeable propulsion packages and weapon systems for the X-511 spaceframe. In early 2517, the X-511-8 prototype was formally adopted by the ICNC as the EA-2 Sapphire-class Mk. I Exo-Atmospheric Shuttle. Based on equipment package fitted, the Sapphire-class could be configured as a Mk. I-A Insertion Shuttle, Mk. I-B Range Assault Shuttle, or Mk.I-C Support Shuttle.

Ever since I had the privileged opportunity to suggest this cockpit be moulded in the iconic Blacktron I colours, I have dreamed of putting it into a MOC worthy of the amazing 80's aesthetic that the Snow Speeder windscreen just SCREAMS. To me, that's an attack-helicopter with legs a-la Mechwarrior/Battletech - something in the realm of the Marauder/Catapult (Mad Cat / Timber Wolf / Stormcrow / Viper ) variety.

Since the amazing set The Force Burner Snowspeeder™ 75414

designed by Daniel Lehmann released last month, and because he graciously outed me as the catalyst for the windscreen's bold look, I have endeavoured to make my retro bipedal Battle Mech. I used a TON of vintage parts and tried to stick closely to the original design language and pattern of the Blacktron I sets. This model is my sturdiest Mech MOC yet!

Incorporating dynamic posing, I could achieve this cool pose, and with some supports it could definitely get into a running position. It has working actuators and armor panels that adapt to the shifts in the legs, seats two pilots, and has a winch for them to ascend to the main body from the ground. I am planning to do some outdoor/diorama scenes with SPI getting their comeuppance, but it is an ABSOLUTE dust magnet so I ran to the office for some beauty shots. If you want the whole story of the windscreen, ask me in person. This will be at Skærbæk 2025. I hope you enjoy!!!

This Space Tank is a "small class" unit inspired by WWI English tank Mark I. Colors and style are clearly based on LEGO Classic Space series.

Named "Blue Bull" due to the stocky shape, is equipped with a huge long-range gun and with a little gun machine right below the rotating turret. I particularly like the loader's hatch and the details featured both on the turret and the side.

The crew is composed by 3 crewmen: the commander, the driver and the gunner (the yellow man outside the hatch).

Even if Classic Space is not my comfort zone of building, and some friends of mine were surprised seeing this new build, I like this theme since I was a little boy. Moreover having in stock a lot of CS pieces pushed me to build the tank and the space hangar.

It has been really funny building the tank and for sure won't be alone for a long time.

The big reveal for my Alternate Build Challenge!

Here's the original model I built, which, as previously, is a Classic style version of one of my neo classic builds! Here's the original Hammerhead album. All the major features I tried to imitate in classic style. The white Classic Space man is sitting in a rover which can be released from beneath the canopy. I thought I would add a flexible tail as a further play feature, so that it swims! Ahem... I mean to assist in scanning.

You can see my own four alternate models here, and alternate models that other people made here.

Droneuary, part 1.

A product of the infamous "Darkworks" robotics design lab of Stygian, the K332 Dragoon is a heavy combat infantry drone used by the Blacktron military forces.

Keeping the basic operational versatility that comes with a humanoid shape, the K332 is armed with an integral heavy plasma lance as standard, though this can easily be switched out for a laser cannon or multibarrel flechette needler for differing combat optimizations.

There is currently a lego ideas activity called 'International women's day'. Since I was designing a robot I came up with this.

This is a special moc for me as it is not exactly a _m_oc proper. This is the first ever speeder in the Galactic Speeder League project originally designed not by me (apart from Y-wing based off the LEGO microfighter). The original design of the model belongs to a friend of mine. While reworking it I felt quite like a member of LEGO Ideas project! Jayson was quite happy with the outcome by the way! I had to come up with an illegal connection, can you find it? 😈 The lore of the model is that it is entered by the planetary team of Insecta populated with anthropomorphic insects, and the design was created with the help of the famous engineer Elon Musk, also known in the GSL multiverse as Ilonyan Moskva and Ilya Mykk. The model uses plasma engines powered by Insecta-developed wing-like bio mechanisms.

"The LAAT/le, also known as Republic Police Gunship or Imperial Patrol Transport was a Gunship used for law enforcement operations by the Galactic Republic and later on by the Galactic Empire for broader millitary patrol missions." This model depicts the imperial variant of the vessel, which was heavily featured in Star Wars Rebels, and later in several other media such as the video games Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, as well as the live-action TV-series Ahsoka and Andor.

This MOC composed of 1732 pieces, and was designed to be close to minifigure-scale while keeping a sturdy and accurate exterior design. Additionally, it includes some play functions like opening doors to the main cargo/transport area, a fully detailed cockpit interior and adjustable front turrets and stabilisers.

Fun fact: I started working on this model back in 2020 for EmpireLUG's Sandstone Collaboration. However after some changes to the collab in early 2021, it was removed from that build

Futuron* was a peaceful and friendly population.

Indeed their ground vehicles and spacecrafts were designed to explore new planets and new worlds.

But something is changing: a black menace is coming from the deep space, its name is Blacktron.

The black men want to attack the Futuron people probably to steal the sought after and valued Monorail.

To prevent the Blacktron attack a new armored vehicle is ready to fire: the "White Tiger".

This medium-class tank features 2 middle-range surface-to-air guns, a rotating turret and a crew of three (the commander, the driver and the gunner).

The nick name is a tribute to the invincible german White Tiger tank from WWII.

Will the "Tiger" be able to destroy the black menace?

*Futuron was a subtheme of LEGO Space released between 1987 and 1990 to replace Classic Space series.

We recently go the THE LEGO MOVIE Double-Decker Couch 70818 set and it came with new Benny faces, so I thought I'd take a shot of one of them. I think he looks super happy and kind of cute too! Yeah, I'm man enough to admit I think Benny is cute! ;-)

With a large fleet of spaceships and many ground units like the APC mobile, the S.H.A.D.O.* agency needs a modern and well equipped bay.

My latest build is the S.H.A.D.O. maintenance bay where the agency's mechanics and engineers can fix and re-fit the Interceptors and possibly the ground units.

The facility is full of details and it features also a service vehicle, a forklift and an hand pallet truck.

Under the wing an operator is welding a support and please take a look at the sparks ;)

A little workbench and the column drill press are positioned on the right.

A spare nuclear missile is ready to be loaded.

Thanks for stopping by.

*SHADO (an acronym for Supreme Headquarters, Alien Defence Organisation) is a secret, high-technology international agency established to defend Earth and humanity against the mysterious aliens.
