Despite being somewhat of a computer moron, I was able to download a firmware update for my Canon EOS Rebel XSi, copy it to the SD card, then upload it into the camera. It was a little scary, but worked out OK.

The Double Barrel is a shoulder mounted dual handheld system that uses our DSLR baseplate. This kit works on any DSLR camera with or without battery grips as it is infinitely adjustable in height. The baseplate attaches to your tripod plate using the standard tripod plate screws; (2) ¼ 20” and (1) 3/8 16”. Your camera can also be quickly released from the rig by turning the red knob then pulling up on your camera. The camera quick release plate stays mounted to your camera so you can quickly switch between using the camera as part of a rig or on its own.

The Double Barrel uses our shoulder pad and 7lb. counter balance weight so you have a fully balanced rig. A fully balanced rig lessens fatigue as you will not be fighting the front heaviness of the rig. The rig can be configured for use on the left or right shoulder. This rig differs from the Fast Draw as it includes our dual handgrip system, our DSLR handle for shooting in low mode and our Z-Finder Pro 2.5x. The Z-Finder Pro 2.5x mounting frame attaches to the camera quick release plate using two thumb screws. The mounting frame does not attach to your LCD; it has a rubber back and simply sets or hovers over your LCD screen. This method allows you to quickly remove the Z-Finder by snapping it off the frame. If you want to remove the entire mounting frame, you can do so by loosening the thumb screws and pulling up on the metal mounting frame to release it.

The Double Barrel also includes our follow focus unit. The .8 pitch Zipgear Universal fits one lens by cutting the strand to fit your lens and connecting the strand together by using the included housing and allen key. The follow focus slides on the rods and the follow focus gear makes contact with the Zipgear allowing you to pull focus. If you require the use of other lenses with the follow focus, you must purchase additional ZipGears for each lens. The Double Barrel includes a set of 4 Zipgears.

As with all Zacuto gear, you can quickly release the shoulder mounted components and use the rig on a tripod.

ABOUT ZACUTO'S EVF VIEWFINDER

Zacuto is changing the game again! We are transforming the form factor of DSLR cameras for video use with our Z-Finder EVF. The Z-Finder EVF is a 3.2” high resolution monitor that will be used in conjunction with all the Z-Finder models. The Z-Finder EVF allows you to operate the DSLR camera with the correct form factor for video with the camera "in-line" to your rod system (the most stable way) and your eye in the Z-Finder EVF. This is the way all film cameras and ENG video cameras were operated and we, at Zacuto, believe this should be the way DSLR cameras should be operated. It will enhance the stability, give you better resolution, allow you to get your eye where it most comfortably needs to be, enable low mode shooting, have your EVF in the back of a dolly or crane, detached from the rig for car shots and more.

SPECIFICATIONS:

* Actual 16×9 screen

* 800×480 resolution

* .087 dot pitch

* Focus Assist

* False Color Exposure Assist

* HDMI loop through

* Operates off Canon LP-E6 Camera battery (1/2 day power)

* Includes a hot shoe mount or optional articulating arm kit.

* Can mount to other manufacturer's rig (RedRock, Cinevate, Letus, etc.) via 1/4 20 screw, 15mm rod or articulating arm

* All Z-Finder models snap on and off the EVF and can be used interchangeably between the camera screen or EVF screen

* Includes Zacuto designed right-angled HDMI cable

* Professional grade construction

* 12 volt external power

Zacuto Z-Finder EVF 3.2” monitor has higher resolution than DSLR LCD screens. These screens have a resolution of 640×480 on a 3:2 aspect ratio screen. Therefore, you only effectively see the resolution at 640×360 in 16×9. The Zacuto Z-Finder EVF monitor resolution is a true 800×480 making the resolution 56% greater than the on-board DSLR camera screens. The Zacuto monitor also has a tighter dot pitch which also improves the quality, making you see a much tighter pixel pattern.

The Z-Finder EVF is currently in prototype stages. It will be available in February 2011 (limited supply) and we are estimating the price to be $775.00. We will be updating customers who are interested along the way with news and videos. Sign up for the reservation list now www.zacuto.com/zfinderevf. We will be taking deposits in December for customers to hold their spot in line; you will be notified via email.

I bought LG 32LE5300 LED LCD TV with Bambi to his little daughter. I turned the Bambi view, it makes me wonder about its very definition. I do not think regret money to buy LG 32LE5300 LED LCD TV.

The Peacemaker is the perfect DSLR Tripod Kit. It includes the DSLR baseplate, Z-Focus with Zipgear Prime Lens Kit, monitor mounting arm and our double mount system for mounting pro batteries. The Peacemaker works on any DSLR camera with or without battery grips as it is highly adjustable in height. The baseplate attaches to your tripod plate using the standard tripod plate screws, (2) ¼ 20” and (1) 3/8 16”. Your camera can also be quickly released from the rig by turning the red knob then pulling up on your camera. The camera quick release plate stays mounted to your camera so you can quickly switch between using the camera as part of a rig or on its own. You can easily add the optional Z-Finder Pro by attaching the Z-Finder Mounting Frame (included with the Z-Finder Pro) to the camera quick release plate using two thumb screws.

The ZipGear Prime Lens Kit includes (4) .8 pitch Zipgear Universals that attach to your lenses by cutting the strand to fit your lens and connecting the strand together by using the included housing and allen key. The follow focus slides on the rods and the follow focus gear makes contact with the Zipgear allowing you to pull focus. This kit gives you Zipgears for 4 lenses.

The Peacemaker can easily be upgraded to a shoulder mounted rig and is compatible with any 15mm accessories.

The Peacemaker comes with (2) 3.5" rods on the front of the DSLR baseplate so you can easily attach a matte box. Rod extensions may be necessary depending on the length of your lenses.

Kit Includes:

DSLR baseplate

Pair of 3.5” M/F Rods

Z-Focus

ZipGear Prime Lens Kit

Doublemount with 7" rods

Red Plate

Zamerican V3 Large Arm

Zicromount III

Zround Mount with 3/8 16" screw

To mention an LCD TV which has a variety of brands in today. That's what we needed to compare the many different points, such as the contrast of the image. The brightness of the screen price, sharp sound. This is very important to me to choose VIZIO E320VP LED LCD TV, because I think it's worth the price and display with 100,000 to 1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio.

This is how our room looked like: we stayed at a Ryokan, a typical, japanese style hotel. You can tell the room is different from a "standard" hotel room. We both loved it! I slept very comfortably on the futon. In the first instance it's seems unusual but you get used to it very quickly and I really enjoyed this hotel. The room was quite modern by the way, it even had a small, full HD LCD screen, a safe, a small fridge and (not in the picture) a small bath/toilet.

Z-Finder EVF Video Series Part 4 "Form + Function"

A Belgium beer, a French cork and an English backdrop… London on wallpaper.

This was my pushed to ISO 1600 roll of Provia on the hottest, sunniest day of the year... Not exactly the best choice of film!

The scan from the lab wasn't this burnt out, I did that on purpose in GIMP outside the main point of interest for the effect. Works reasonably well, I think.

A shattered touchscreen is unfortunate.

The weird effect from applying pressure to the LCD, coupled with another juke's audio output, makes coping a bit easier.

This reminds me of the donkey Marc Chagall painted in / with his little Russian village, in a lot of his paintings. Shot thru the viewfinder of my old Sony with my new Sony. It's a rubber deer mask lying on a weathered wood deck where once stood a shed (which got pulverized by hurricane Ivan). This is my first time experimenting with ttv (through the viewfinder) and I'm not even sure an LCD screen qualifies, but I couldn't figure out how to get the little marks like "CAF" and the 'no flash' icon to go away.

I shot the LCD screen of another photographer (Margaret Warren, who was shooting with a Nikon D50, I think) right after she shot me. No, but wait, that's another photo (called "good dentists"). This is a shot of the LCD screen (functioning as the viewfinder when he shot the pic) of a *third* photographer / artist (and scientist), the illustrious Pat Hayes.
