A kettle is a kitchenware piece. Depending on culture and geographic location, in the context of kitchenware the word kettle can have a variety of meanings. In the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Canada, a kettle is a device used to quickly heat water for hot drinks, such as tea or instant coffee.

Must stop bringing home this stuff!

Marilyn is a tribute to the actress. As usual this sculpture consists of kitchenware. On a metallic structure, two sugar bowls globe in stainless steel were fixed, and look like breast.

I began collecting vintage and antique kitchenware about a year ago, and it is nice to be able to blend that hobby with my photography. There is quite a range of timeline for the pieces in this photo, the oldest is the butter dish which is a pattern made in the late 1800's, the silverware ranges from 1916 to the early 1950's, and the china is from the 1930's. The most modern piece is probably the candleholder/vase, but it blends well with the other tableware.

I don't normally by Pyrex Tableware, but who can resist the Bluegrass pattern?! I already had the bowl, which was lucky since the thrift only had the cup and saucer, perfect! :)

Another e-Bay sale. They are 6" tall, about 8" across, and HEAVY ! I know they are old because on the bottom is stamped "Made in the USA", LOL!!! Seems like nothing is made in the USA any more...It all comes from you-know-where !!

Charlotte commissioned these. She'd asked for a single kitchen stuff organizer. And me, being an obsessive sort of cooking person, decided that instead of making her one, I'd make her three, each a little differently sized, so as to enable better sorting of things.

Some of the folks at the studio were impressed with the glazes and wanted to know how. It's four different glazes, two dipped, two airbrushed, and I sent Charlotte the work-in-progress shots and before they were fired they didn't look a thing like this. The bottom is dipped in a black, the top is in a blue, and then I airbrushed it with white towards the bottom and rutile towards the top..

Strobist details: A 285HV at 1/16th power to the left, a Neewer NW-561 at 1/16th power to the right, and a cheap white light tent as a background and diffuser. All triggered with my Phottix Ares.

I did a my weekly thrifting route this morning since I'm going home tomorrow. I didn't end up finding too much!

This is one of my very favorite pyrex patterns. Unforunately, this piece has been through a lot. It's really in quite bad condition, the photo makes it look better than it actually is. There is a lot of shine loss, some color loss, and tons of scratches.

I left it behind last weekend, but when I saw it was still there today, I broke and saved it. It's been months since I've found any pyrex, so I think that was part of why I ended up buying it!

It tastes so much better when you use vintage kitchenware ;-)

The kitchenware department in Myer Melbourne, following the $300 million refurbishment.

Found this 473 today! I already have one, so it's for trade! :)

These are most of the items that I bought at estate sale #2 today. As I'm sure you can tell from the photo, this may have been the dirtiest estate sale I ever attended! Some of my finds include a Wiener Dog liquor bottle & shot glasses, tiki glassware, pyrex dishes, retro chrome shot pourers, and other assorted barware and kitchenware!
