Lesson learned. Never tear out your kitchen before you get the money from the bank...because the bank won't finance a house without a kitchen....I thought nothing was better than this...they disagreed. Humm....other options....

On Friday we transferred to Tokyo - to the Oakwood apartments in Shinjuku. They are normally for extended stay but you can request shorter durations.

The whole place was done out in IKEA and Tesco products. It made us modern sorts feel comfortable.
I came home to find that Patrick made me a surprise early Mother's Day present -- the kitchen ceiling's been covered with beadboard and the hole is gone! The light fixture we bought in Houston about 2 years ago is even properly affixed. Now it just needs a coat of paint and some sort of crown molding but I think it looks about a thousand times better already!

my kitchen contains all things 'kawaii' which means cute in japanese.
i've been a huge fan of sanrio, san-x, crux, etc for a long time and am obsessed with japanese candies (more so for the packaging than the contents inside).
i dream of visiting tokyo someday, sadly i may never get back through customs with the amount of cuteness that i would purchase.
