Ambient. Verticals are off a bit for sure, but I did not know how to correct this until recently. I know now, thanks to this group. This house was the one that got me a lot more work, so it is one of my favorites.
I took hardly any photos in Finland and to think I was there for four months. At the time I made a note of all of the major (and minor) features of the kitchen so check the notes for the Flickr-based 2005 version. The notes are all from an elaborate letter I sent home.
Another shot of the same kitchen. Again a 5 shot blend in Enfuse.
Again searching for interesting, different angles. The logs on the left were that white.
Nik tonal contrast on those white logs to bring them up some, Viveza, RAW sharpner and Define.
And yes the lamp on the right was on, just one dim bulb.

The existing kitchen was a long galley style kitchen. This kitchen open up two other spaces to enlarge the kitchen and to create a visual access to the back yard. The desire for this kitchen was to be very open and airy.
The kitchen before we started the renovation work. The linoleum was peeling off the floor. The cabinets, while pretty in a way, were not our style. The paint was blah. The benches were a little too busy for my tastes. And the ceiling fan's pull chain was broken (and it wasn't connected to a switch anywhere, to boot).
This was taken slightly after work had begun, which is why there are no appliances or a kitchen table in sight.
The renovated kitchen features alder cabinetry, mosaic glass backsplashes, a wine bar, and period lighting.
