knowing how much i love cooking, the guys gave me total freedom to do with the kitchen as i wish. so while it poured rain all day i threw on the ipod and re-arranged, condensed, and shifted. david came home and was thrilled- we're both looking forward to doing a lot more cooking in here now! and we've all agreed on the new wall color, so that'll be another project in the coming weeks...

My aim was to set up the kitchen using only the complete Re-ment Kawaii Kitchen set, used them all, but it felt so empty so I added pieces from other sets.
The old melanine laminate had started to peel off our cabinets so have just peeled it off and hey ho new cabinets ready to repaint!
March One A Day #21 - "Kitchen Sink"
I suppose there are SOME ways to creatively interpret the "Kitchen Sink" prompt, but I went with the literal. I thought about trying something with "Everything but the..." but didn't think it would turn out well. So, here is my kitchen sink, right before I washed those dishes. That pink reflection on the faucet, in the handle of the pan, and on the right side of the sink is me. :)

We are doing a mini renovation of our kitchen. So far we installed wood floors in the living areas. When it's complete we will have a new island for storage, new appliances, granite countertops, a glass tile backsplash and a new light fixture above the island. This is one my husband chose.....I don't love it.....
The kitchen is now nearing completion using, apart from the oven and hob, only secondhand timber. There are scaffold planks, an old Victorian meat safe, a recovered refinished marble top, old cupboard doors etc etc
