We are doing a mini renovation of our kitchen. So far we installed wood floors in the living areas. When it's complete we will have a new island for storage, new appliances, granite countertops, a glass tile backsplash and a new light fixture above the island. This is one my husband chose.....I don't love it.....
The kitchen is now nearing completion using, apart from the oven and hob, only secondhand timber. There are scaffold planks, an old Victorian meat safe, a recovered refinished marble top, old cupboard doors etc etc
Expanded Kitchen peninsula features extra storage and granite counters. Appliances are stainless steel, including the natural gas stove, and all convey. See more at www.1717Honeysuckle.com - Listed by Jeremy Hart, Owner/Agent, and Nest Realty Group.

A little perspective distortion because of not having the camera perfectly level. Badly in need of a new tripod with a bubble level. Otherwise I was fairly happy with this.
Strobist info: 4 lights for this shot. Sunpak MS-4000 monolight CL in first hidden doorway, 430ex CL in second hidden doorway, SB-80 in the dining room distant left, SB-50 on floor CR to light the front of the island a touch

Of all the wonderful tool makers of the world, Jernbolaget in Eskilstuna, Sweden was one of my favorites. Jernbolaget (or The Steel Company if you prefer the translated version) was much more than a tool maker. The company is mostly known as a large supplier of kitchenware, household items and cutlery. I don't own very much of their products, but the large cast iron kitchen scale is one of my favorites.
Older items normally display the full company name "Eskilstuna Jernmanufaktur AB" or "Eskilstuna Jernmanuf. Aktiebolag", later one's the abbreviated "Jernbolaget Eskilstuna".
The company symbol was an anchor and although it can at times be poorly stamped, it appeared on all their products, even down to the smaller chisels.
I have not sen a greta deal of hand tools from Jernbolaget, so I am uncertain about which types of woodworking tools they actually made.
At a later stage Jernbolaget exported their woodworking tools, some of them under the brand "Anchor". At this stage Jernbolaget also started making hand planes.
I have never seen or tried a Anchor hand plane, so I cannot say whether they were good or not. But the cutter ought to be excellent. The steel made by Jernbolaget was equal to that of Erik Anton Berg.
Kitchener (Ontario) Roman Catholic Church on Weber Street. I was attracted by the symmetry of the entrance, the brickwork, and the beautiful doors.

This is what the kitchen looked like when we got started with the project. It was a room full of paneling. Though the room was big, it only had cabinets on one side of the room- just bad space planning.

The Kitchen Appliances have gone crazy!
I just tried to use the electric whisk to make some whipped cream for a lovely ice cream with freshly picked strawberries dessert when suddenly the whisk went mad!
It might have had something to do with the fact that I pressed on the Turbo button a few time to many to hurry things along but we will never be certain.
The thing started to glow red and it started spinning out of control getting closer and closer.
Luckily I had Thwack nearby and was able to took care of the rogue appliance. Luckily we still had a manual whisk and the dessert was saved, hooray and yum yum :-)
7 shot blend in Enfuse. No strobes. Auto w/b. DxO then to lightroom then to PS. Nik Viveza for touching up the ceiling a bit, tonal contrast on the granite counters and wood floor. RAW sharpner then Define. Some straightening with PS transform - skew- distort.
Want to join me for dinner?

Another shot of the same kitchen. Again a 5 shot blend in Enfuse.
Again searching for interesting, different angles. The logs on the left were that white.
Nik tonal contrast on those white logs to bring them up some, Viveza, RAW sharpner and Define.
And yes the lamp on the right was on, just one dim bulb.
Tell me what you think.

The existing kitchen was a long galley style kitchen. This kitchen open up two other spaces to enlarge the kitchen and to create a visual access to the back yard. The desire for this kitchen was to be very open and airy.
Three or four more shots, and I'll be showing you a FINISHED kitchen. For today, notice the cupboard and drawer handles: newly installed!
