Bands of heavier snow took on a bluish hue. First time I have seen it and the camera was able to catch the strange colour.
Native brook trout acclimate after being released into a nearly one-mile restored section of Piney Run in Purcellville, Va., on Jan. 8, 2021. How can one side of my head feel perfectly normal and one side feel like it's been run over by a truck? Also, this is not my regular nose shape. The merge wasn't perfect.
Just look at the expression on her face. She's not happy with cold paving slabs, and even colder winds. She'd like some 'warm' now, thank you very much. And who can blame her?!

Pretty surprising (: Anyway, I wanted to be upstairs by nine thirty but then the picture uploader failed a few times. I was pretty stressed about it because I want to sleep early and is not freaking uploading the picture -.- Finally, I used to basic uploader. Yeap.

A quick trip up the Duddon this afternoon for me - although it was getting a touch exciting with the ice on the road! I had planned to get right to the head of the valley but with the light fading fast, and the road conditions, I decided to cut my losses and go with the backup plan.
There are a series of stepping stones the whole length of the river, and I am pretty sure they have been there since antiquity. The whole valley has an ancient feel to it which is pretty unique in the Lake District - and is probably why I love the place so much!
This was taken standing in about a foot of running water as the temperature dropped below 0 deg C. I was there for about half an hour so my feet are blocks of ice! I gave up trying a second composition as my fingers ceased to work... must remember gloves next time! It was a 2 minute exposure (Lee Big Stopper) with a 0.6 grad holding the sky back.
