I like the way the sunlight brings out the shades of green in this jade circle. The piece was bought a few years ago during my trip to the Yucatan Peninsula and Guatemala. Many cultures attribute jade with the ability to bring good luck. For a while I wore it as a necklace, but now it hangs from the rearview mirror of the Toyota Sienna that I drive. Before, it was hidden beneath my shirt and now I can see it on a regular basis. I find this to be an improvement.

Went looking for red deer stags in this years rut, found 'Jade' on the way into Stand Wood. Seeing as she struck a pose, it was a shame not to oblige. Great textures between the tree stump and the hairy beast ;).

"You are correct, my dear, according to this translation, there are dimensional gates hidden within the valley", Victor said in a hushed voice.
"Well, I had my suspicions, Professor, but I just wanted a second opinion. "Is this why we keep experiencing strange events?" asked Jade,
"It very well could be, miss Cash. You must inform Commander Rivers at once!"

The jade vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys) is a native of the tropical forests of the Philippines with a local name "tayabak". Its flowers are the color of a jade ranging from blue-green to mint green, depending on the variety of the vine. hybrid jade vines are longer measuring up to .90 meters long - 1.5 meters. The vine blooms in grape like structure amounting to 75 or more. the blooms come out from pruned and mature vines only. Each bloom resembles the form of a stout bodied butterfly with folded wings or the head of an angle with crown if not the head of an Indian chief with a long beard and a longer ornate headdress. In its native Philippines, the jade vine's flowers are pollinated by a somewhat grey fruit bat, a specific wasp and is also a home to a specific butterfly.

Today is National Egg Roll Day so our thoughts immediately went to our favorite spot for authentic Chinese-American cuisine, Jade Mountain on 2nd Avenue in the East Village. Sadly this restaurant closed in 2007 after the owner, Reginald Chan was fatally struck by a truck while making a food delivery on his bicycle (his delivery person had already left for the evening when the last order came in). We miss this spot (swipe left for 2nd photo of the storefront which is currently empty) as it not only had great egg rolls but we also loved their classic chicken egg foo young and of course loved their neon signage. Even @thedailyheller remembers Jade Mountain and in his Sunday New York Times Book Review of our book “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York” (swipe left for 3rd photo) he quotes, “If you’re at all interested in the passing cityscape, this book is a documentary mother lode; if you’re happy to see these joints disappear, it might at least kindle appreciation for them. “Store Front” is not mired in nostalgia. Take the photograph of the (now closed” Jade Mountain Restaurant, on Second Avenue near East 12th Street, where I ate cheap Chinese food as a teenager. It is not a storefront I get misty-eyed seeing again; even the so-called chop-suey-style sign lettering does not make me long for what’s lost. But it’s part of a larger mosaic that was (and is) New York’s retail culture”. Steven Heller Sunday, April 5, 2009.
I only have three house plants, so I put them on the porch in the summer and brings them inside for the winter. They always lose a few leaves when they have to acclimate to less sunshine. The jade plant's leaves are thick and it takes a little while for them to decay to the point that the stem releases them, but I'm sure this one is on it's way out.

"What does Jade do when she's hot? She turns up the heat of course! And Kool Kat did just that when she showed up at Roxxi's party tonight in this sizzlin' new outfit. Jade looked like a total jetsetter, steppin' out in bold pieces inspired by some of her fave fashion capitals - her top comes straight from the streets of Tokyo, while her purse and vest are so Parisian chic! After adding some funky torn leggings and electric blue hair extensions to give the outfit a London edge, Jade was ready to hit the party scene and dance the night away with her BFFs. Who says Pretty 'N' Punk is dead? ;)"
Lol I know I've been focusing on Jade too much lately, but she's definitely one of the most fun Bratz characters to dress, because you can go almost anywhere with her, and she can still pull it off because she's Jade x) Initially, she was just wearing one of PnP Meygan's outfits, but then, I wanted to change the skirt, and everything kinda snowballed into a new outfit ^_^
