Jade Factory in Hokitika, NZ. Facinating place with lots of good stuff in their large store for every budget.
Back story: I had a smaller jade plant at my previous home in NJ. When I moved to AZ, 16+ years ago, I took a small cutting in a cigarette pack on the plane with me. I knew the plant would not make it on the moving truck. I gave the plant to a girlfriend and she still has it. :) I'm guessing the orginal plant is 30 years old. The very large Jade seen here and the other pots around it are from that cutting. There's many more. Just as big.... I am now over run with Jade.
Friends like to gift me the succulent gardens in a dish... They outgrow the containers quickly. And yes, I am over run with other succulents too.
Im not complaining. :)
My back porch. No crop. No post processing.
This is Jade my new girl! Her hair is so marvelous!! I'm in love with her to pieces! She's wearing dress and hat from Le Petit Boutique.
fruit made from jade, alabaster, marble to represent grapes and leaves - particles of dust add to dimension to glass balls
Jade loves tromping through the groundcover in my backyard, and rolling in the ivy. Hard to believe she's 16 when she acts like a kitten all the time.
The Jade Guardian is a character that walks the line of old and new technology, using energy weapons and defenses that are very advanced, but in the form of traditional weapons that were known and used by past generations.
This one is a bit more like traditional Lego than some of my other builds. I've wanted to use the armor from the new Superman sets since it was released. It's one of the most detailed armor pieces that Lego has created and I'm glad to see them moving in that direction. Hopefully we will see more of these type of interesting and detailed pieces in the future.
