Its too hot here to go out photographing so I've decieded to experiment with Still Lifes and textures. Encouraged and inspired by the incredibly talented Joan www.flickr.com/photos/joanatkinson/
Many thanks to you all for your wonderful comments and encouragement.
There was a slight mist this morning, quiet low down in places and with the rich blue sky above and the moon still up made for a great morning.
What a tonic that would be.. heres hoping!
(For those of you who know your 80s music) at least we didn't get knocked out by Matt Bianco!

This seat with its stunning view is on the Pateley Bridge to Wath Road in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire.
It is a place I linger far to long drinking in the view and continually finding new things
Rightly proud of its place within the Dales, Nidderdale is for many the favourite Dale. It truly deserves its status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its stunning moorland scenery and tapestry of lush green meadows

Its heyday was in the 1920s, when together with Potsdamer Platz it was at the heart of Berlin's nightlife, inspiring the 1929 novel Berlin Alexanderplatz and the two films based thereon, Piel Jutzi's 1931 film and Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 15½ hour second adaptation, released in 1980. About 1920 the city's authorities started a rearrangement of the increasing traffic flows laying out a roundabout, accompanied by two buildings along the Stadtbahn viaduct, Alexanderhaus and Berolinahaus finished in 1932 according to plans designed by Peter Behrens.
What a cutie
Hi everyone its been a while since I have been dong any photography ,finally I got out !
Its not very often we get conditions like this as photographers. Fast moving stormy skys full of atmosphere. Just to the left you can see another downpour approaching which not long after soaked me through. I dont think there is anything more exhilarating then being exposed to nature at its best though.
Thanks for looking, really appreciated.

This is a spectacular looking bird in its breeding plumage and one of my favorites for flight photography. The birds are resident to the country and are in their prime breeding plumage right now. They turn white with gold colored mane on the back of their necks - the transformation is really remarkable.
During the monsoon season the birds are usually very active. We can hear their calls near the lakes very easily. I shot this near one lake which has a low embankment road, there were 2 pairs trying to pair up. I am not sure whether its the male chasing the female or vice versa (both look alike), but this one followed after another one all over the banks.
A few others I sighted on another part of the lake had paired, they were sticking to each other. The nest building is on a lotus leaf where they lay the eggs. After that, the female leaves the male to find another partner, while the male takes over full parental duties.
Thanks in advance for your views, likes and faves. Much appreciated.

There are twenty five murals along the Dundas St. W. Art Walk between Islington and Kipling Avenues in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. The collection provides a stunning, truly unique, and publicly accessible historic narrative of the Village and environs while beautifying and pedestrianizing the Village and streetscape. A local artist - John Kuna - has painted most of the murals with works also by Arts Etobicoke and Sarah Collard.

Hasankeyf - its remains of a huge ancient city on the upper course of Tigris river in Turkish Kurdistan.
The most interesting part of Hasankeyf are rock-cut caves, the number of which may even reach 8000. Caves form a real estate here. Their history dates back to at least the 8th century pn e, but one can easily speculate with much older roots of this place. Surrounded by rocky canyon, Hasankeyf in antiquity became an important stronghold.
The banks of Tigris river was connected by huge bridge - leaving only pillars.

Hasankeyf to pozostałości ogromnego starożytnego miasta położonego nad górnym biegiem Tygrysu, w Kurdystanie tureckim.
Brzegi Tygrysu łączył ogromny most z którego pozostały tylko filary.
Miasto miało być zalane po wybudowaniu zapory na rzece Tygrys, jednak po licznych protestach poniechano tego zamiaru.
