Early snow on the Pennine hills . Gragareth on the left facing Ingleborough

A coyote, making its way through the meadow on a bright overcast morning, stopped occasionally to gaze in my direction, perhaps it was not comfortable with what was pointing at it.

I took this shot in early June. It is quite surprising that this individual still had some winter coat around the neck and shoulder. But I think the shedding should be completed pretty soon.

Thank you very much for the visit and comment

"Double Arch takes its name because it consists of two arches that share the same stone as a foundation for both of their outer legs. Double Arch was formed by downward water erosion from atop the sandstone, rather than from side-to-side water erosion."

Macro Mondays: Leading Lines.

This tiny Wren appeared on the top of the bird feeder outside my window and immediately started singing in a huge voice. It had only just fledged and perhaps had not yet learned all the secretive behaviour typical of a Wren, which is usually heard rather than seen.

It stayed all morning and then came back in the evening.

Perhaps this was its first song? Regardless, it made my day.

This photo shows it larger than life-size - for comparison, look at the screwhead in the feeder.

Taken at Sunnys Studio grounds using its Laundry day

LM to Sunny's studio

Its been a little crazy out there... but we will find our way.

** Its rather sad to be posting the final shot from a trip but this is the last one from the road trip we took in 2016 . We drove from Santa Fe to New Orleans via parts of Texas . Certainly saw quite a range of different landscapes and cultures .

One of the highlights was spending time at Jefferson Island in Louisiana . Roseate Spoonbills are certainly the oddest birds I have ever seen and it was a good opportunity to see large group of them close up . I am in debt to two flickr contacts Cajun Snapper and Larry Daugherty who gave me hints and directions to a small pool on Jefferson Island.

Well that’s the end of travel shots from 2016 so will be posting stuff from 2017 soon. Its a good job I am so far behind given that this year does not look like it will be adding a great deal to my travel collection

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH. ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED

Blue-tailed Bee-eater tossing its dragonfly meal before swallowing.

If I could stick my pen in my heart

And spill it all over the stage

Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya

Would you think the boy is strange? Ain't he strange?

If I could win ya, if I could sing ya

A love song so divine

Would it be enough for your cheating heart

If I broke down and cried? If I cried?

I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it

I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do

Oh, well, I like it, I like it, I like it

I said can't you see that this old boy has been a lonely?

If I could stick a knife in my heart

Suicide right on stage

Would it be enough for your teenage lust

Would it help to ease the pain? Ease your brain?

If I could dig down deep in my heart

Feelings would flood on the page

Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya

Would ya think the boy's insane? He's insane

I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it

I said I know it's only rock'n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do

Oh, well, I like it, I like it, I like it

I said can't you see that this old boy has been a lonely?

And do ya think that you're the only girl around?

I bet you think that you're the only woman in town

I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it

I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it

I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do

Oh, well, I like it, I like it. I like it

I like it, I like it

I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Ooh, I like that

(Only rock and roll, but) Ooh yeah, I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Yeah, I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Oh yeah, I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Oh yeah, but I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Yeah, I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Oh yeah, but I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Oh I, I like it

(Only rock and roll, but) Oh yeah, I like it

Yeah, I like it

Oh, I like it

Oh, I like it

Ooh yeah, I like that

Its a lovely little hill, smackbang in the middle of the Goyt valley, shame we couldn't see much this morning, but then we cannot always have nice weather....maybe it will clear later!.

Its time for them to bloom, this year it has many arms with cluster of flowers, this is one plant that does okay without help or water,

the simple morning dew it keeps it alive.

Lots of lovely mushies and toadstools popping up now ! : o )

Its 7.34am on 23.10.2008 and a sky to behold as the sun rises over Thornham on the North Norfolk coast. The Pink Footed Geese are on the move and the red sky begins to fade.

Nothing like a hog between your legs on a crisp autumn day. Even better if you have a Loki hanging off the back. Loved this shot.

LM: Coming Soon

Its close after sunrise at the shore of the Vatterfjorden near Svolvear on the Lofoten Islands. Its cold and its silent. The valley is still in the shadows of the mountains. The sun is reaching only their peaks. The perfect place to come to rest and collect yourself.

An Indian pond heron (ardeola grayii) struts across a grassy area near Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand.

Barred Owl realignment..

This is Jamesmoor Pond in the New Forest, a great location for a winter sunset.

A bit of a rush job as I left home a bit late. This was pretty much taken on arrival with the lens I had on my camera.

The lake was completely frozen over which shows how cold it was that day, bearing in mind this was sunset not sunrise.

It would have been better, I think, if I had put my wide angled lens on and taken this from a lower angle closer to the ice.

Always room for improvement!

Have a great weekend x

My previous post shows the wide angle view of the rocks and flowers where this American Pika lives.

The Specola in Padua is home to the Museum of the Astronomical Observatory, from which it took its name in the eighteenth century. In 1761 the Venetian Senate decided to establish an astronomical observatory for the University of Padua, using the ancient Torlonga of the Carrarese Castle as its seat.

EXTREMELY VOCAL, and can be a proficient mimic of both animate and inanimate sounds. Love the way a starling walks with characteristic swagger, and the flight is rather undulating and the wings look pointed and triangular in outline. /// SOMETHING out of the norm. for me, but felt it had something of appeal going for it, so have risked posting it, hope you enjoy it.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP, hope you are keeping well and enjoying this hot weather, have a great weekend, stay safe and may God bless you............................Tomx.

"OUR EARS ARE CLOSED"

Sea and mountains, valleys and streams

Night and day were all in Gods dreams,

The Garden of Eden with its precious tree

The Son He gave to set us free.

The seed He placed in the heart He made

Don't let its flowers wither and fade,

Is the ear closed to His constant plea

For in truth we live to disagree.

Have we not learned a thing from the past?

Why is the blindness we have so vast ?

We've ignored His word since time began

To do as we will has been our plan.

Has the Saviour's death not opened our eyes

When His blood was shed for our demise,

Mocked and beaten, betrayed from within

God's Holy Lamb pierced for our sin.

When the reaper comes and we walk to the gate

Do we all stand in line, to wait and wait,

Or will the one who gives life lead you through

And walk with you to paradise and life anew ?

POEM by John Wren, a blessed and talented Flickr friend of mine.

An unmistakable little bird with its comical clown like appearance. Love it’s red and black eye-markings and bright orange legs.

The weather on the Isle of May,Scotland yesterday went from torrential rain to warm and sunny.

Well worth a visit :)

its ok to say it over and over .. ho ho

and to those who don't celebrate . happy holidays .

Its beginning to look winterish! :)

Nature's having its way in our Garden. We decided to let it run wild and there's been a grand succession of a variety of wild flowers. Now above the lowly wild geraniums wave the long and gracious stems of Fake Dandelion, Hypochaeris radicata. Its bright yellow flowers attract lots of insects.

Here's Merodon equestris, Narcissus Bulb Fly, speckled with pollen, eating its fill. A couple of years ago I posted our Fly foraging on a Daisy (www.flickr.com/photos/87453322@N00/27412307710/in/photoli...).
