I hadn't illustrated around a photo before so in a way it was pretty fun. They aren't kiddin' when they mean loud. This is a BUSY illustration!

Slanted Magazine #23 – Swiss Issue
The Editors of Slanted magazine embarked on a two week “Tour de Suisse” and talked to some of the most innovative and interesting Swiss designers about tradition, transgression and progression. The resulting photos, text and video interviews with the 23 designers and studios give insight to contemporary design work in Switzerland and a glance behind the scenes.
The 23rd issue of Slanted magazine contains numerous essays reflecting Swiss graphic design, an illustrated section “Helvetica Illustrated”, a photo series of the former Bond-girl, Ursula Andress, interviews and a Carte Blanche in cooperation with form magazine. Also, included is a special “work and life” of typographer and graphic designer Hans Rudolf Lutz, edited and designed by students of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design under the Direction of Prof. Urs Lehni.
Furthermore, this 336-page issue utilizes materials to interpreted the opposing sides of Switzerland: A very shiny and structured surface against the raw and rough. This juxtaposition is represented in this issue with the use of the Chromolux-material. On the high glossy side, readers can follow the Tour de Suisse and the uncoated side features content of the Suisse Issue.
Thanks to Augmented Reality and the Junaio app, readers can easily watch embedded videos of the Tour de Suisse on mobile devices.

If semen is not ejaculated, it is recycled by a man's body because it is a vital life essence (like blood or lymph) -- NOT an excrement (like urine or feces). The profession that currently recommends that men "clean their pipes" periodically, is the same profession that used to recommend smoking cigarettes to "sooth" the smoker's lungs.
Prostate issues used to be largely a concern of men in their 70s or 80s. Prostate cancer is now the # 2 male cancer worldwide ( lung cancer is # 1 ) and prostate cancer is now more and more often diagnosed in much younger men. The two highest concentrations of Zinc and Selenium and other important nutrients in the male human body are found in the prostate and the brain. The crude expression, "f**k your brains out", contains much more truth than many realize. Prostate issues often respond very well to targeted nutritional supplementation. Hence the exponential growth in the sales of supplements specifically for the prostate over the last 30 years.
With karezza, a man has the option of making love as often as he desires, through his 80s and beyond, without thereby putting any undue stress on his prostate because he is not intentionally throwing out his vital life essence. He also has no need to use any life-threatening pills to produce an erection. And his partner is more likely to also desire and deeply enjoy their frequent lovemaking which is more in harmony with nature.
See synergyexplorers.org/ for more details on karezza.

The Tick was a comic book series created by Ben Edlund in 1988 and originally published in black-and-white by the New England Comics store in Boston, Massachusetts. The series provided modest beginnings for its title character, who would later feature in his own television programs and merchandise. The final plot in the comic was never concluded as Mr Edlund left New England Comics to work on the animated series. He has made it clear he never intends to produce the final, 13th issue. Issue 1
Special edition, stamped with a serial number from 1 to 5000, released March 1988. First edition released June 1988.
Ben Edlund, Writer & Artist; Bob Polio, Art Director; George Suarez, Editor & Publisher.
The Tick is in a padded room, confined by a straitjacket. He is bored and decides he will "leave this place." He ends up in the city on patrol against crime. During his patrol he accidentally encounters a group of ninjas interrogating Shing. The Tick, not realizing that he has encountered a crime in progress, leaves to fight crime, with ninjas, hotly, but artlessly, in pursuit. The Tick ends up in a coffee shop demonstrating to a citizen that he is a Tick by demonstrating his sucking ability through a straw. After losing consciousness, the Tick awakes in a subway tunnel, not realizing where he is. Clark Oppenheimer on a nearby train platform sees the Tick in the tunnel and springs into action to save the doomed citizen. The Tick resists being saved, thinking he is in the belly of a whale and Clark an enlarged enzyme, resulting in the two of them being struck by a train. After being disgorged from the tunnel, somewhat worse for wear, Clark runs off to his job at a local newspaper.
Clark Oppenheimer is a subtle but noticeable parody of Superman.
The full story of the Tick's escape from the asylum is revealed in The Tick: Luny Bin series.
The first panel of page 17 is a recreation of the Edward Hopper painting, Nighthawks. This painting appears many times in Tick comics and in the animated series.
Second edition released March 1989 with four extra pages of the Tick. Appearances from the NEC Newsletter. Third edition released Jun 1989. Fourth edition released December 1989. Fifth edition released April 1991. Sixth edition released January 1995. Seventh edition released April 1996. A Special Edition Reprise, with the same cover as the Special Edition with a second cover wrap and serially numbered 5001-14000, released April 1996. Eighth, 10th anniversary edition, released August 1996. Ninth edition, released March 1998.

Galicia21. Journal of Contemporary Galician Studies
Issue C. 2011
Ao igual que nos dous últimos anos, nos derradeiros meses do 2011 deseñamos o número C da revista Galicia21. Journal of Contemporary Galician Studies.

Reenactor portraying a U.S. Army officer from the War of 1812.
This photo was taken at Fort Meigs during a reenactment of “First Siege”. The fort is located on a bluff overlooking the Maumee River in northwest Ohio. During the War of 1812 British troops and their allies attacked the fort multiple times. The successful defense of the fort by the U.S. Army and several state militias helped stymie the British invasion of Ohio and the U.S. northwest territories.
