One of the negatives about living a life as a professional musician is that you spend a lot of time in airports. I have a 3 hour layover in Burbank as I make my way home to Las Vegas. Looks, like I’m not the only one killing time at Gate A7.
…over Stacksteads, at Lee Quarry.
The fire had been started deliberately, according to the news / fire brigade.

The tide is on the way out, revealing the channels and tributaries in the salt marshes around Blakeney. A panorama shot of this interesting section not far from the quay, but when the tide is in it would be easy to slip down in this channel and get really muddy and wet.
I took this photo as I was waiting for our band to do our sound check for the festival. I love how she seems to be immersed in listening to the current band performing a song to get microphone and speaker levels adjusted.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Towneley Hall on par with any other historical building
The hall is in the distance, beyond the vanishing point, and beyond the fountain, peering out behind the trees.

Do you have a favourite Robert Frost poem, or a favourite poem by another poet?
THE SOUND OF THE TREES
Robert Frost
I wonder about the trees.
Why do we wish to bear
Forever the noise of these
More than another noise
So close to our dwelling place?
We suffer them by the day
Till we lose all measure of pace,
And fixity in our joys,
And acquire a listening air.
They are that that talks of going
But never gets away;
And that talks no less for knowing,
As it grows wiser and older,
That now it means to stay.
My feet tug at the floor
And my head sways to my shoulder
Sometimes when I watch trees sway,
From the window or the door.
I shall set forth for somewhere,
I shall make the reckless choice
Some day when they are in voice
And tossing so as to scare
The white clouds over them on.
I shall have less to say,
But I shall be gone.
I had a decent view of The Stratosphere from my gig tonight so I decided to shoot a couple of quick pics with my iPhone.
Missed uploading this one !! Playing around with the Photoshop features and replaced the sky with one I took on the Baltic coast a few years ago, then added "Flaming Pear" filter called "flood 2" to give a reflection that you can add in "pebbles dropped" effect to create little water effects of ripples.
So all a bit of a composite. Original image taken on iPhone 13 Pro Max
Jean Baptiste Pointe du Sable is regarded as the first permanent non-Indigenous settler of what would later become Chicago, Illinois, and is recognized as the "Founder of Chicago". He was of African, French, and Haitian descent (possible Canadian as well). The name Chicago is derived from a French rendering of the indigenous Miami-Illinois word shikaakwa for a wild relative of the onion; it is known to botanists as Allium tricoccum and known more commonly as "ramps". The first known reference to the site of the current city of Chicago as "Checagou" was by Robert de LaSalle around 1679 in a memoir. Miami-Illinois: Shikaakwa; Ojibwe: Zhigaagong) is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Illinois and the third-most populous in the United States after New York City and Los Angeles.

... But Growing Up is Optional 😎
It’s that time of year again, putting notch 81 on the tally of life. Sure goes fast when you’re having fun
A little word play on one of my favorite Toby Keith songs 😅
"As Good as I Once Was" is a song recorded by American country music singer Toby Keith. It was released in May 2005 as the second single from Keith's album Honkytonk University.
Kudos to the Mrs. for taking this photo !!

I always try to get a window seat when I fly. I find it fun to snap a few photos on takeoffs and landings.
At the very end of Cromer Pier is a RNLI Lifeboat Station.
Made a panorama shot to compress the sides and make a more interesting image.

2 of the performers that appear at Lost Spirits Distillery. There are a wide variety of performers who are showcased at this unique Performance Complex here in Las Vegas. I wish I had one of my DSLRs for the pictures I took while I was performing there, but my iPhone had to do… As they say, The best camera you have is the 1 you have with you. :-)
Happy Independence Day to my fellow citizens in the United States!
Scenes from the Chicago concert on June 17, 2023 at Sangamon Auditorium on the University of Illinois Springfield campus. Chicago is one of the longest-running and most successful rock groups of all time. Formed in 1967 (my sophomore year of high school), Chicago has recorded 38 albums and sold over 100 million records. The original members of the group were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. Original band members Robert Lamb (keyboards), James Pankow (trombone) and Lee Loughnane (trumpet), now in their mid-to-late 70s, are still with the group and are in top form. It was a fantastic concert!!!
When it’s nice, it’s really nice
We enjoy a walk in the park with Patches. She gets to run off the lead too, and meet and greet other dogs.
We bumped into the park ranger as she checked our parking credentials (we have a yearly pass for all the parking areas in the park; I also park there when I go the football too, it’s only a 10 minute walk to Burnley FC’s Turf Moor stadium).
She stayed chatting to us for about half an hour… telling us humorous anecdotes about her job and the public she meets.
Her walkie talkie went off and she spoke to her colleague telling him that she was helping a member of the public with an enquiry 😂😂
