Penn State York celebrated the launch of Working Class, a makerspace partnership, to a crowd of more than 100 on Aug. 9 on the stage of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) at Penn State York. The winners of the 2016–17 Start-Up Challenge, a business pitch competition for students, were also recognized during this celebration of entrepreneurship, leadership, partnerships, and innovation. These projects received $50,000 seed grant funding from Invent Penn State, an economic development initiative across the Commonwealth. Penn State President Eric Barron, Penn State York officials and Erin Casey, co-founder and board member of Working Class, took part in the ceremony.

Tenho 36 anos, moro em Porto Alegre e sou jornalista. Quando eu era piá, há muitos anos, no interior do Rio Grande do Sul, eu ia seguido na fazenda do meu tio. Lembro que meu programa preferido era ir até a criação de abelhas dele para pegar mel e chupar até o favo. Em um destes passeios, vi um homem coberto de abelhas, dos pés à cabeça, sem proteção nenhuma. Ele estava calmo, sem medo. Achei aquele homem todo coberto de abelhas uma cena pavorosa e ao mesmo tempo fascinante. Ele parecia ter saÃdo de um filme de aventura, um homem destemido, poderoso, concentrado. Achei aquilo incrÃvel, especialmente porque tenho alergia a picada de abelha, nunca poderia me expor tanto. Deve ser muito interessante passar horas só ouvindo aquele murmurinho, com concentração. As vozes de milhares de abelhas. Os problemas devem ficar miúdos, agente deve se sentir bem. Meu pedido é ter podido fazer como aquele homem quando eu era piá e ia passear no sÃtio: me coberto de abelhas para pegar mel.

I decided to try to play with bokeh today, so i designed a paper sleeve that fits onto my lens, cut out a few simple shapes from paper, and then added some cookie press doohickies. This picture was the cookie press thing that is supposed to make a flower.
