Here is the fantastic debut album from Sunderland lad and talented musical man Lucas Renney, formerly of the Golden Virgins. There's a launch night for it at Independent in Sunderland tomorrow night and Lucas will be playing a set.
Some of you may recognise the album artwork...fame at last eh?

One of a series of 2009 views of the changing face of Church Street and Lord Street in Liverpool, where the old (upper storeys) contrasts with modern business and retail (ground floor). The two (continuous) streets form the interzone between the (almost) totally new build 'Liverpool One' and the older part of the city centre.

On 24th September 2017 , about 500 protesters participated in a muscial rally held by the Story of the frontiers in Edinburg Square to show support and solidarity with the jailed activist. Performers included the Interzone collective, Anthony Wong, Denise Ho, Edmund Leung, Wong Hin Yan, Adrian Chow, BoyzReborn and others.
Friends and family members of the jailed activists also shared their thoughts and read out the letters from the prisoners.
Before the concert, a mobile classroom was held , inviting the former legislators Leung Kwok Hung and Margaret Ng as speakers.

ESSEN - from the Hauptbahnhof eastbound, an AC electric locomotive of a type built in 1963. With a top speed of 150 km/h, it was typical Bundesbahn power for this Cologne - Dresden interzone D-train. The locomotive was based at Cologne-Deutzerfeld.

can you see the cover of the new Owen album, GHOST TOWN in here? How about the picture of earth, as seen from space? Or the cover of the latest of Montreal CD, PARALYTIC STALKS? Can you pick out the photo-artwork by NYC artist Mike Jenkins? Of course, you can't miss the logo for the now-defunct Burroughs Co. -they made computers in the early 80s, when Apple IIe was hot, Commodore 64s were around, Also - this was way before Microsoft came out with the 1st Windows. The only O/s was MSDOS. But I put it up there because the company got its start way back in the late 1800s when William S. Burroughs, the great writer (NAKED LUNCH, INTERZONE, SOFT MACHINE, WILD BOYS, EXTERMINATOR!, etc) happened to be related to the Burroughs's of St. Louis, a well-to-do family, who got their money from an elder Mr. Burroughs who invented the adding machine!!!

the difference
Burroughs's major works can be divided into four different periods. The dates refer to the time of writing, not publication, which in some cases was not until decades later:
Early work (early 1950s): Junkie, Queer and The Yage Letters are relatively straightforward linear narratives, written in and about Burroughs's time in Mexico City and South America.
The cut-up period (mid-1950s to mid-1960s): Naked Lunch is a fragmentary collection of "routines" from The Word Hoard – manuscripts written in Tangier, Paris, London, as well as of some other texts written in South America such as "The Composite City", blending into the cut-up and fold-in fiction also heavily drawn from The Word Hoard: The Soft Machine, Nova Express, The Ticket That Exploded, also referred to as "The Nova Trilogy" or "the Nova Epic", self-described by Burroughs as an attempt to create "a mythology for the space age". Interzone also derives from this period.
Experiment and subversion (mid-1960s to mid-1970s): This period saw Burroughs continue experimental writing with increased political content and branching into multimedia such as film and sound recording. The only major novel written in this period was The Wild Boys, but he also wrote dozens of published articles, short stories, scrap books and other works, several in collaboration with Brion Gysin. The major anthologies representing work from this period are The Burroughs File, The Adding Machine and Exterminator!.
The Red Night trilogy (mid-1970s to mid-1980s): The books Cities of the Red Night, The Place of Dead Roads and The Western Lands came from Burroughs in a final, mature stage, creating a complete mythology.
