Naked Lunch is a novel by William S. Burroughs.
The book is written in vignettes and uses the cut-up technique to create some of its structure. It can be argued that this makes the chapters rather erratic and difficult to read for some, although Burroughs himself stated that the chapters are intended to be read in any order. The reader follows the narration of junkie William Lee, who takes on various aliases, from America to Mexico, eventually ending in Tangier and the dreamlike Interzone. The vignettes (called 'routines' by Burroughs) are drawn from Burroughs' own experience in these places, and his addiction to drugs (notably heroin and morphine).
The way Burroughs has written the novel ensures that the reader only sees part of the picture - as much as he wants to share. It often happens, given this structure, that something mentioned in the book is not explained or elaborated upon until much later. This idea, relating to different perspectives within a larger picture, is itself a theme which runs throughout this book. The novel's mix of taboo fantasies, peculiar creatures (like the predatory Mugwumps), and eccentric personalities all serve to unmask mechanisms and processes of control, and have led to much controversy. By de-centralising plot Burroughs focuses on literal caricatures, satire and parody throughout the novel.

‘A deeply personal film about my feelings for my boyfriend’s daughter Jojo, who is synaesthetic. Synaesthesia is an experience of cross-modal sensuality - of ‘seeing green’ or ‘tasting pink’, hearing colours or feeling smells as shapes. I think everyone is latently synaesthetic, and that certain ways of making cinema might be able to trigger the experience. Peach combines artisanal Super 8 filmmaking with complex emotions in an attempt to create ‘Cinesthetic Synaema’. The film’s title comes from a combination of things - the peachy colour of the film which is caused by the way it was made, Jojo’s different experiences of peach as a colour, and an affectionate name my mum gave me as a kid.’

Interzone 3 est un projet fictif de transformation de la Halte des Hurons en une halte routière totalement démesurée, empruntant l’esthétique des panneaux publicitaires de condominiums et des chantiers de construction.
L’artiste s’inspire de certains projets récents de haltes routières au Québec qui semblent miser sur la construction de petits centres commerciaux bordés de stationnements plutôt que de conserver les modestes haltes routières dans un écrin de verdure. L’œuvre ouvre un espace de réflexion pour explorer, avec une touche d’humour et d’ironie, notre rapport collectif aux haltes routières classiques et aux paysages qui bordent le parcours de l’autoroute 20 entre Québec et Montréal.
Avec Interzone 3, Mathieu Latulippe explore également notre rapport à l’environnement naturel, urbain et architectural. La mise en scène qu’il propose ici évoque autant les parcs d’attractions, les villes utopiques ou dystopiques, les banlieues et communautés fermées comme l’Aquablu à Laval, les centres commerciaux gigantesques et les méga-complexe comme le Quartier DIX30, l’exubérance et le surréalisme de villes comme Las Vegas ou Dubaï, ou encore de l’univers fictionnel de la science-fiction New Wave et d’auteur tel que J.G. Ballard.
