Art installation in Melbourne (shot September 2009). The shapes were made using plastic packaging as casts. So the shape is the plastic that encased the original object.

For Being Human 2016, Newcastle University expored the long history and mesmerising appeal of all things high and mighty through the dramatic installation ‘Everest Death Zone’ suspended in the vast, vertical space of the Tyne Bridge’s North Tower; a performance by the vertical urban explorer and photographer Lucinda Grange; and bus tours of local artificial mountains and megastructures.

Open the click buckle of the tree slings by inserting the small silver webbing through the larger blue frame (see fig. 1a). Next, pull the first tree sling through the loop of the installation
webbing. Then pull the second tree sling through the stitched end of the slackline webbing. Now find two trees a suitable distance apart and pass the tree slings around them, closing
the click buckles by inserting the small silver webbing through the blue frame (see fig. 1a). Tighten the tree slings around the trees by pulling on the free ends of the slings. (See fig. 1)
To prevent excessive abrasion, the part of the installation/slackline webbing connecting it to the tree sling should be placed against the gray, reinforced area of the tree sling. Ensure that the angle of the tree slings does not exceed 90° to avoid excessive forces on
the slings and their components (see fig. 1b).
Holler House in the Memorial Union Gallery includes installations, videos, music and designs by the Minneapolis-based band Holler House. Members of the band chronicle the performances they play by creating a host of icons and designs that interpret the spaces, places, people and experiences they encounter. The icons are often cleanly drafted designs that outline the contours of hard-edged or organic forms. In the sequence they are displayed, a viewer moves from venue to venue and begins to consider the purpose of this odd language of trying to brand a moment. The exhibition includes Holler House’s actual equipment to bring a level of authenticity and participation as well as an installation that pits the band member’s performance shoes against their dress work shoes. The display might feel odd being placed in a Gallery if it were not for the undertones of sentimentality and preciousness of experience that fits so perfectly in this venue of reflection.

A temporary installation on White Wharf
Rockport, Massachusetts
Utilizing the off-season resource of stored lobster pots found along the coast line, the temporary installation will provide a public room for the community and to visitors during the month of February.
The proposal is intended for day and evening habitation, for individuals and groups, for informal gatherings and private contemplation. Constructed of local lobster pots of various colors wrapped in cheesecloth and iced down nightly the pots engage the fundamental principles of prospect and refuge. During the day hours the pots and their scrim of iced cheesecloth form a homogeneous enclosure and through openings provide distant views to the horizon and slotted views back to town. In the evening the pots are illuminated with lamps contained within the pots and through the thin shell of ice, their glow
will reflect the various colors of the found pots.
Contributing to the form will be the daily cycles of freeze/thaw, patterns form due to exposure to, or lack of sun and wind. The final form of the installation following the month long installation will respond to, and be shaped by it’s micro-context.
Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present Floating Worlds - the gallery's debut solo exhibition with Los Angeles-based painter Stacey Rozich. The vibrant and richly detailed watercolor and gouache works on paper depict mystic scenes from the artist's folklore.
The alternate realm Rozich has created through her prismatic work is equal parts familiar and strange - a bird-like creature stops in a garden for a smoke break, a plastic bag sits beneath the seesaw where he sits and a miniaturized doppelgänger hands him a lighter. More spectral scenes depict curious rituals where cloaked and masked figures are surrounded by peculiar iconography.
The artist states, "Compelled by the enigmatic notion that our everyday terrestrial lives may be coexisting with another fully-functioning surrealistic plane alongside our own, I have sought to create this world through a series of vivid scenarios and portraits. As it turns out, this surreality may not be so different from our own reality: you’ll find that moments of miscommunication, embarrassment and awkward first dates can still occur regardless of your astral plane."
