On Saturday, July 16th Ben & Jerry's teamed up with Flavorpill to host a street party on North 6th Street between Berry and Wythe in Brooklyn, New York. Hundreds of volunteers showed up to help beautify the area with plants, flowers, benches and trash pick-up. Volunteers were also treated to live music by DJ Spooky and of course, FREE ice cream!

Pelavin Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new work by Timothy Paul Myers, titled The Ontario Ration. In celebration of Pelavin Gallery ’s thirty year anniversary, in January 2011, Myers bases this exhibition on a found business ledger chronicling the last thirty-years of an egg farmer named Myron B. Johnson, circa 1899-1929. This will be Myers first solo exhibition at the gallery.
Repetition and the use of unlikely materials—two prominent themes in Myers' work—continue to be displayed in this exhibition, as Myers makes use of hundreds of pages from a thirty-year business ledger of Myron B. Johnson, circa 1899-1929; one-thousand trading cards, circa 1900s-1930s; and one-hundred-thousand stacked pencil pieces individually topped with a single drop of acrylic paint from the artist's palette of over one-hundred-fifty hand-mixed colors.

a small part of the installation I'm working on at the moment... I really like how it's working together.
Eric brought the LEDs and the cabinet back today and we worked on installing the pipes, lights and cabinet. It pretty much took all day.
The Endor Star Luxeon Rebel LEDs proved to be somewhat delicate -- we managed to ruin 8 out of the 20 that I had ordered. The final effect should be quite nice though.
This job was awesome. We had the rare luxury of a customer who wanted everything ripped out and installed new, which gave us the rare opportunity to properly design a duct system. It's up and running and the customer says "night and day better" than the original builders grade duct system. Few people understand that the duct system and airflow is where all the efficiency is either delivered or squandered. So, upgrading to high efficient systems is useless until you upgrade the duct system.
Installed first, then Windows, which overwrote boot sector. Had to reinstall Grub 2 to dual boot. Partitioning drives was trickiest part. The Linux tool was better than the Windows one.
BNSF MOW workers install rail joining bars on a section of 40 foot panel track that has just been laid into place by a pair of front end loaders, as part of the track replacement project on Main #1 through the station at Fullerton California.
The last time this was done was 14 years ago and thanks to the strike at the port, the early part of December turned out to be a good time to do this project.
I would like to thank the crew who were gracious enough to allow me to photograph their activities that night - the opening in the crowd watching the loader was not by accident.
