Today's shot is dedicated to my good friend Mikey.
Mikey leaves in 3 days to put himself in harm's way - to fight for what he believes in - to protect and defend freedom.
So here's the personal message:
Mikey - you started out as a contact on a photo-sharing-social-networking website. In fact - you were the very first contact I made - even before my wife! You quickly became so much more - and now I am proud to call you a friend.
You wear your heart on your sleeve and let us all in to see what goes on inside. You take the time to send a note or text message, or make a quick call - just because. You have developed into a great photographer - and you can fucking JUMP dude.
But, it is really so much more than all of that... so much more. You are, truly, the definition of inspiration.
There will be times when you're over there - ready to give up - asking why the fuck you're doing it. You'll turn to you family most of those times, as you should - but know - REALLY FUCKING KNOW - that there are many of us here that will think of you every day. We will be hoping and (some of us) praying for your safe return - so we can laugh, cry, and look at boobs and - well - look at more boobs. (not necessarily in that order of course.)
And now - this is an order:
Go. Kick ass. But keep your fucking head down, and come back to us in one piece. You're already a hero. My hero.
And remember - when you get back: the party is at Casa Clem - and it will be epic. Woodstock-like.
I love you my brother - and I am awaiting your safe return.

Anybody know how to repair a 70-200mm f/2.8 L?
I picked up my Shootsac and out it tumbled, crashing to the floor. I had just applied my mascara, so crying wasn't an option. Let's just say I'm VERY unhappy. The glass didn't break, but the element inside sure did. Seriously - AS I'M LEAVING FOR THE WEDDING this happens. Unreal. I used the 24-70mm f/2.8 L for the whole shebang and so far it looks like I made it work. It was a lovely wedding and I can't wait to truly dive into all the photos!

Week 6 of 52 theme: silence
All we have secrets, secrets that we dont choose but we must save them for good under a key inside of us until a day is time to revelate it. In my case i dont have secrets, or that's what i think, you can ask me anything.
The true is that this photo is very lame but it was the best idea i had for the theme silence.
I like it and that's all what matter.
Quite happy how this shot has turned out. Another day putting the Pentax K-3 through it's paces.

I have believed in balance. I thought well, I’ll have a bit of the world (a boyfriend here and there, a group of friends who party and swear and influence me in unrighteous ways) but go to church on Sunday and put my hands up and sing those songs. However, it doesn’t work that way. God asks us to die to ourselves and our pride. That seems like so much but it creates this vast space inside of you that God is calling out to fill with his love, his mercy, his wisdom. I know personally I struggle with feeling left out because I don’t go to those parties and I’m not in on all the gossip. I’ve found something greater though. I’ve met people and have learned to appreciate the people around me that want to see me grow in God and to encourage me. I understand not all of you will have somebody there who shares your faith but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. I am so excited for everything God is doing in each and every one of your lives and I want you to know that you do not have to follow the herd in hope of finding something to satisfy you. It never does, it only leaves you more empty and cold than before.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter; And as a sheep before its shearers is silent.” Isaiah 53: 6-7
Do what you want, it’s your choice. If you see though what Jesus did for us, what God gave up for us. I hope you realize that those ‘evil men’ in your life aren’t worth your time. They may be hard to break away from but if you are constantly desiring to be one of them and to do as they do you are only leading yourself astray from the Truth.
I don’t mean to be rude but it’s about time I stopped sugar coating it.
