Think Pink
Perhaps a bitter pill to swallow. Grand daughter Livia is allergic to the dog, so anytime she is over she needs help with that. When got them out I said...."wait a sec" and got the camera.
Have a mellow weekend, dear friends :-) xo
Better on black.
Many thanks to Brenda Starr and Clifford Sax for their fabulous textures.

Elna

Inside a green dream , part one
I've uploaded many dreamy pictures so far, and decided to number them, starting again, with number one.
It looks rather useless to think of original titles for a dreamy photo, because they can be taken everywhere. Ofcourse I'll mention where they were taken, this image of a beautiful shaped tree, a cottage, grasses and water, was taken in a park annex entertainment centre called Plaswijck in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
This is a wedding favor pouch from my nieces wedding, The pouch contains sugar-coated chocolate buttons in pink and white with the words "Love" and a picture of the bride and groom on them.
And of course also Happy International Women's Day!
Design by David Andrén, Johan Andrén, Tjåsa Gusfors, Sweden. The artists behind this year’s church wanted their design to celebrate the greatness and complexity of nature. The visitor is led into the church through a thick forest. The path through the room is not clear from the outset and you will have to slow down and perhaps even take a few detours to get to where you want to be. Suddenly, a holy room appears, filled with light and embraced by a peaceful, tall forest. Between the trees, there is lush and vital greenery, ferns slowly unfolding their leaves and a sunflower radiates behind the cere- monial altar. The center of the sunflower strives both clockwise and counter-clockwise, symbolizing eternal love:
“During the design process, we have thought about everything from nature’s smallest elements to the fringes of the universe and the beginning of time.”

The innards of a Minolta SRT 303. It does feel very much like a contraption when you're facing it the first time, but I do admire that sense of smartness and purpose in this thing. It's just... beautiful. Maybe I should have studied engineering after all :)
I initially had no idea for that theme. On the other hand I really felt like I should go to the flea market and see whether I could find something to my liking. I ended up grabbing a Minolta SRT 303. It did look like it had spent years in the trash bin, but times sounded about right and the curtains looked healthy, and for 5 Euros I wasn't taking such a big risk, so why not. It quickly became obvious I had to open it up and lift the prism to clean up the dry glue and light seals gooey that had creeped everywhere (well made instructions for this camera - and other - here by the way: www.youtube.com/channel/UC_LLC4wtg7fORCFtw97xhDg). Worked well, but after I put everything together again the shutter appeared to be stuck at 1/1000. Not the best way for a camera to go through life. More opening up, more clean up, more surgery... and now I have to put all these strings and pulleys back in order. But the shutter and shutter times look and sound right now. After all this, I am starting to positively love that thing. I hope I'll get it to work for good. Plus, it does have a really good viewfinder!

Did you get to go the beach this weekend? I didn't, but I'm still in a summery mood.
About this photo:
Just a shell macro I took awhile back. It has some sand stuck to it, so we can all pretend like we were at the beach this weekend.

Inside the Daiden (the great hall) of the Buddhist temple Zōjō-ji in Tokyo.
The bowls in the lower left corner is for burning incense.
And the shot is not a monochrome version. It really looks like this.
The Buddhist temple Zōjō-ji was founded by Yūyo Shōsō in the 14th century - at another place but it was moved here in 1590 and during the Edo period it was one of the two family temples of the Tokugawa family (the other being Kan'ei-ji). The area was badly damaged in the second world war and later rebuilt (except its big gate, which survived). The Daiden actually dates to 1974, and despite its old looks, it is mainly made out of concrete. The temple is the main temple of the Chinzei branch of Jōdo-shū Buddhism.
HDR from 3 different exposures (handheld). Tone mapping in Photomatix and little adjustment in PS 7. No crop.
