We're familiar with two of them, but they (like quite a few other insects) have an additional 3 "Simple Eyes" the smaller ones are thought to detect only light and shadow.

Spotted this Ichneumon wasp on the same wall the spider and woodlouse was on. It then examined some nearby plants

They're normally pretty reliable, emerging on St Mark's day, but this year they were out a couple of weeks ago.

An interesting myrmecophilous butterfly.

A very beneficial predator of whiteflies, aphids, and larvae on agricultural crops, it is only about a quarter inch long. Here it is nectaring on a Queen Anne's Lace.

Alright, so now about me...

Hmm how to start.

1. I know its going to be a shock but,,, I am TERRIFIED of insects. Yes thats right I am afraid of them.. I dont know how I manage to get their photo. They are fascinating creatures, but I prefer to stay away.

2. One huge excemption to #1.. I love butterflies.. I think they are beautiful. Thats why I always wear one.. You can find them on my logos, my home, my office... you get the point.. :D

3. I am a very strong believer that things happen for a reason. Its like that saying " whatever doesnt kill you, makes you stronger"..

4. I like all colors but my favorite is purple..I even have my room painted purple. I know, its weird, but thats me.

5. I beleive that people are good deep inside, even if they have done something wrong. I care about everyone in my life, even if they have hurt me. I always put everyone else's needs before my own.

6. My son Adrian is my strengh that keeps me going day by day.. without him, I dont know where I would be. I thank God everyday for giving me my son. Let me tell you, its hard, but when you come home from a very stressful day at work and you hear that 'Mommy your here" and see him with arms open wide, everything dissappears and its just Adrian and I. Its all worth the fight :D

7.. I was born in November. I am a scorpio, just like my friend Rashid ( who btw tagged me).

8. I love nature and animals. I belong to the Peta organization, I really dont like it when I see someone being cruel to an animal. I love to go out for walks and be outside. No BUGS though :P. I love the water. Always wanted to live close to a river.

9. I love music, singing is one of my hobbies. All types of music is fine.. as long as it has a good melody.

10. Finally.... I want to travel all over the world. Experiencing new cultures and meeting new people seems very exciting to me.

I have graduated to full macro by picking up a Sigma 105mm Macro lens today. It wasn't as bright out today so I had to stop down the shutter speed, so the image stabilization was quite helpful. Am still working on taking pictures so close and am not quite their with working with such a shallow depth of field. But I love the quality the lens is able to put out, and how close I am able to get to my subject. Give me suggestions in the comments on how I can improve my macro shooting.
