I'm not sure what this is wasp/hornet - he was the largest I've ever seen. They were coming out of the ground and were about 2 inches long with big eyes.

I'd love to know what it is and hope someone can ID it for me.

Looking through my back catalogue of older images I spotted this nice tiny Hoverfly looking so pretty on a strawberry flower.

This image was taken in Sptember of 2016.

I do love insects, and I do plant insect friendly flowers in the garden to help them along!
