This strange looking insect is neither a scorpion or a fly and is completely harmless. It scavenges around in the undergrowth looking for dead insects to feed on. Seen in Dunwich, Suffolk.
What a perfect construction! Wasps take slivers or wood and chew them to a pulp. Then they lay it in these fan shapes and buld their castle.

This tiny insect has antennae longer than its body. It is perched on the small bloom of clover to give you an idea of the actual size. It was near dark when taken so I used the flash and bumped the ISO.
Just as the weather starts warming up the insects emerge and start to enjoy the floral treats. This mosquito or fly decided it liked my Daffodil flower too. Happy Wing Wednesday
Not sure what kind of bee this is, so I will just call it a Honeybee gathering pollen on the flower of a Pickerelweed in the wetlands of Florida.
