Light, my light, the world-filling light, the eye-kissing light, heart-sweetening light!
Ah, the light dances, my darling, at the centre of my life; the light strikes, my darling,
the chords of my love; the sky opens, the wind runs wild, laughter passes over the earth.
The butterflies spread their sails on the sea of light. Lilies and jasmines surge up on the crest of the waves of light.
The light is shattered into gold on every cloud, my darling, and it scatters gems in profusion.
Mirth spreads from leaf to leaf, my darling, and gladness without measure. The heaven's river has drowned its banks and the flood of joy is abroad. *

Lotus Flower, Echo Park Lake, Los Angeles, California, USA. Best lotus flowers I have seen until their demise in 2008 for unknown reasons. The city is making plans to bring them back to Echo Park Lake.

A billion times God has turned man
Into Himself
You stand in line for the
Highest gift
For his generosity cannot end.
But best to bring an instrument along
While waiting in the cold desert
And make some dulcet sounds
To accompany the palms' swaying arms
That are casting silhouettes
Against the sky's curtain
From our fire
Remind the Friend of your desire
And great patience.
A billion times God has turned man
Back into Herself.
We all stand in line
For the highest Gift. *

Dance unto the light,
Sway to the sounds of time,
Watch the angels bright,
As they dance within your mind.
Dance my friend and sway,
To beauty, to laughter, to love,
For this is the most perfect day,
A perfect gift from above!
Dance unto the light,
Catch the stars bright,
For perfect are the angels love,
From the One Most High above!
Dance, dance, dance
As the music plays on,
Dance, Dance, Dance,
As we listen to their song. *

Silvacane, Thoronet, Senanque, these austerely beautiful cistercian abbeys catch your breaths. You could not have imagined such simplicity and spiritual beauty built in stone. Silvacane lies on the left bank of the Durance river. It is the most recent of the three Cistercian abbeys in Provence and the only one that has not continued its monastic activity. The name comes from the Latin "silva cannorum" (forest of reeds). When the monks first settled here, they had to drain swamps before they could build the abbey (begin in 1174) and grow crops, hence the reference to reeds.
Vivid colors at the end of the day. Not such a neat composition but a cool light, i think. Have a great evening everybody and thanks for the 302,256 views!...:)

The shadow of dim delight
I gave myself up for lost
in the depth of a glad humiliation
---in the shadow of a dim delight.
The repose of the sun-embroidered green gloom
slowly spread over my heart.
I forgot for what I had traveled,
and I surrendered my mind without struggle
to the maze of shadows and songs.
At last, when I woke from my slumber and opened my eyes,
I saw thee standing by me, flooding my sleep with thy smile.
How I had feared that the path was long and wearisome,
and the struggle to reach thee was hard!

THE LIVING CURTAIN
Maybe I should call this one "Trying to look through my window!...
We let the vine grow in front of our window... the colored light that comes into our room is so incredible... and this is from where I take all those autumleaf shots...
lit only by the flame being thrown inside ..... these balloons are absolutely amazing.....
....and I forgot my tripod...so this was hand held.

Description visuelle immédiate

After the Gingko biloba the fig tree is my second favourite!!! I was so happy when I found out that some kinds also can grow here in Germany - they are frost resistant.
I have three of them in the garden. It is always a wonderful and delicious harvest in autumn!
About Figleaves:
In the book of Genesis in the Bible, Adam and Eve clad themselves with fig leaves after eating the "Forbidden fruit" from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. Likewise, fig leaves, or depictions of fig leaves, have long been used to cover the genitals of nude figures in painting and sculpture. Often these fig leaves were added by art collectors or exhibitors long after the original work was completed. The use of the fig leaf as a protector of modesty or shield of some kind has entered the language.
The biblical quote "each man under his own vine and fig tree" (1 Kings 4:25) has been used to denote peace and prosperity.
