Living Smoke — A Visual Series

This series explores presence without form.

Figures that are not made of bodies, but of movement, density, and absence.

Nothing here is solid.

Nothing here is permanent.

What you see is not meant to be fully understood — only felt.

The images move through a complete emotional spectrum:

• Stillness

• Movement

• Closeness

• Almost-touch

• Contrast

• Fusion

• Dissolution

Each piece captures a moment where something exists briefly,

then fades back into smoke.

This is not a story with a beginning or an end —

but a sequence of encounters.

Seen without seeing.

Felt before it disappears.

Saturday Night Sunset - The Light Between The Lights.

Wishing all of you a wonderful sunday and Mothers' Day as well

I will be back with you tonight!

It was an amazing sunny and windy morning today........

let the flowers dance....... I liked the blur that came out.....

showing their movement in the wind.

Lotus Flower, specifically the Sacred Lotus or Nelumbo nucifera. Also commonly referred to as a Water Lily, Echo Park Lake, Los Angeles, California, USA. This was taken in 2007, one of the last blooms of the original planting decades ago. The Lotus Flowers completely died out in Echo Park Lake in 2008 for unknown reasons. There were no blooms in 2008. The city is working on plans to plant them again under more favorable conditions.

These were the best lotus flowers I have seen and I am looking forward to the replacement plants.

Here is a shot of another lotus from the same lake that surprsed me with the mystical inner light they seem to posess...

Happy Teacher's Day! (Sept-5th)

... or is it purple? The true Peonies colour is deep purple, but taking the photograph

in the worst time to take photographs (high noon with full bright sun) the colour turned

out somewhat near deep pink.

An attempt to catch the soft atmosphere in twilight... almost before sunset.

The setting sun behind shining through...

This magnolia stellata is in dedication to my little niece: Stella for her first birthday!

...Beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.

But you are life and you are the veil.

Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.

But you are eternity and you are the mirror *

There is no postprocessing on this one, only a little cropping.

The wonderful colours of the backround are the newborn leaves of a rose.

It is time for some more kitten pics ;)

This young lady doesn't have a name yet....

Here are some ideas (from flickr' friends):

"Namibia"

"Café latte"

"Caramel".........

My favourite is NAMIB

The very narrow green line over the roofs is the vinyard.......I pass this wonderful little houses every day when I go on my walk (with Sulaika, our dog) into the vinyards.

You come to us

from another world

From beyond the stars

and void of space.

Transcendent, Pure,

Of unimaginable beauty,

Bringing with you

the essence of love

You transform all

who are touched by you.

Mundane concerns,

troubles, and sorrows

dissolve in your presence,

Bringing joy

to ruler and ruled

To peasant and king

You bewilder us

with your grace.

All evils

transform into

goodness.

You are the master alchemist.

You light the fire of love

in earth and sky

in heart and soul

of every being.

Through your love

existence and nonexistence merge.

All opposites unite.

All that is profane

becomes sacred again.*

This wonderful photograph from Linda inspired me to have a closer look on the pavement...

to get the total velvet feeling: see it in large!!!!!!!!

Dedicated to my niece Sarah... she has such wonderful inner eyes looking at and commenting my photographs!

While Diwali is popularly known as the "festival of lights", the most significant esoteric meaning is "the awareness of the inner light".

Central to Hindu philosophy is the assertion that there is something beyond the physical body and mind which is pure, infinite, and eternal. Just as we celebrate the birth of our physical being, Diwali is the celebration of this Inner Light.

Diwali celebrates this through festive fireworks, lights, flowers, sharing sweets, and worship. While the story behind Diwali varies from region to region, the essence is the same - to rejoice in the Inner Light.

Lots of rain this summer... probably that's why I feel so attracted by these wonderful bright colours... emanating so much joy and light.

*) Janoid... I took your comment as title... love it!

Don't miss the small beauties alongside your path...

>>Can you hear the Gods whispering in the dark,

speaking to you through the rustle of leaves?<<

The "disciples of the roving heart" pools question

fits so much fo this photograph... I think!
