Guillemots are the most common auk found in the British Isles. They come to land only to nest, spending the rest of its life at sea, where they are vulnerable to oil spills. Dark brown and white, not as black as the similar razorbill, there is a 'bridled' form with a white ring round the eye and stripe behind it.
During spring Guillemots gather in massive and tightly packed breeding colonies, known as loomeries, on coastal cliffs and rock stacks. The females lay a single egg directly on a ledge. When the chicks are three weeks old they have to take a dramatic plunge from their rocky shelf into the ocean below. Guillemots are also commonly called murres after the deep murmurings made by groups of nesting and fishing birds.

Anthroposophy, a philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner, postulates the existence of an objective, intellectually comprehensible spiritual world accessible to direct experience through inner development. More specifically, it aims to develop faculties of perceptive imagination, inspiration and intuition through cultivating a form of thinking independent of sensory experience, and to present the results thus derived in a manner subject to rational verification. In its investigations of the spiritual world, anthroposophy aims to attain the precision and clarity attained by the natural sciences in their investigations of the physical world.
Anthroposophical ideas have been applied practically in many areas including Steiner/Waldorf education, special education (most prominently through the Camphill Movement), agriculture, medicine, ethical banking, organizational development, and the arts.
Architecture

Steiner himself designed around thirteen buildings, many of them significant works in a unique, organic—expressionist architectural style. Foremost among these are his designs for the two Goetheanum buildings in Dornach, Switzerland. Thousands of further buildings have been built by later generations of anthroposophic architects.
Architects who have been strongly influenced by the anthroposophic style include Imre Makovecz in Hungary, Hans Scharoun and Joachim Eble in Germany, Erik Asmussen in Sweden, Kenji Imai in Japan, Thomas Rau, Anton Alberts and Max van Huut in Holland, Christopher Day and Camphill Architects in the UK, Thompson and Rose in America, Denis Bowman in Canada, and Walter Burley Griffin and Gregory Burgess in Australia.
One of the most famous contemporary buildings by an anthroposophical architect is ING House, an ING Bank building in Amsterdam, which has received several awards for its ecological design and approach to a self-sustaining ecology as an autonomous building and example of sustainable architecture. Schloss Straßburg liegt auf einem Hügel über dem Gurktal in Kärnten und war früher der Sitz der Bischöfe von Gurk. Die Straßburg wurde 1147 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt und wurde von den Bischöfen von Gurk wohl als Zeichen der Unabhängigkeit gegenüber dem Salzburger Erzbischof erbaut. Ab 1783 wählten die Bischöfe von Gurk einen neuen, zeitgemäßeren Sitz und die Burg verfiel zusehends. bis sie ab den 1950er Jahren wieder instandgesetzt und teilweise neu aufgebaut wurde. Heute dient sie als Museum und als Kulturzentrum für diverse Veranstaltungen. Besonders schön empfand ich den Innenhof mit seinen Arkaden.
Strasßburg Castle is situated on a hill above the Gurk valley in Carinthia and was once the seat of the bishops of Gurk. Straßburg Castle was first mentioned in documents in 1147 and was probably built by the bishops of Gurk as a sign of independence from the Archbishop of Salzburg. From 1783, the bishops of Gurk chose a new, more contemporary seat and the castle fell into disrepair until it was repaired and partially rebuilt in the 1950s. Today it serves as a museum and cultural centre for various events. I found the inner courtyard with its arcades particularly beautiful.

I finally got all the comic books put together. They are all from 1941. I found the covers on one site, the backs on another and two sites with inner pages. Only Donald Duck and Superman have the inner pages. The rest are filled with newsprint from a local ad mailer and don't open. I think it worked well though as you can tell they have pages and sort of ruffle the edges.
