After picking out the new bra I wanted to buy I asked the sales girl who worked with me if she would take a photo of me in the "Inner Sanctuary", the hallway going into the dressing rooms. She did say my dress was really cute and I thanked her for a lovely experience!
We went all the way to Northumberland to go and see puffins (my 50th year wish!), and were fortunate enough to have a weather window that allowed us to land on Inner Farne, and there were puffins galore!

A short history of Pest Inner City:
Up to the first third of the eighteenth century the left-bank settlement, the historic centre of the former town of Pest, consisted only of the district lying between today's Liberty Bridge, Chain Bridge, Múzeum körút and Károly körút, that is to say, it extended only as far as today's Kiskörút (Little Boulevard). The town was completely rebuilt and it grew gradually; today, of the original town of Pest, there only remain some parts of the fifteenth-century town walls, and from the eighteenth century, only the churches, as well as a few monasteries and public buildings. In contrast to the Castle District of Buda, which is by-passed by the main traffic of the city, the Inner City, with its shops, offices and important traffic arteries, is part of the city's everyday life.
On the site of today's Inner City Parish Church, in the so-called "Barbarians' land" , a strong watchtower was erected in AD. 294 by the Romans; this they called Contra-Aquincum. At the time of the Magyar Conquest, around 900, the tower was used for defense and around it was built a town which, however, was completely destroyed by the Mongol invasion of 1241.
The new town was built on the Castle Hill in Buda, and Pest remained a kind of suburb, though owing to the Diets being held in the Field of Rákos, in the outskirts of the town, and to the national fairs held in Pest, traffic and commercial life remained busy. In the late fifteenth century Pest was surrounded by walls the site of which is revealed by the remains of some buildings originally built against them: some stones of the walls and of the town gates can still be seen.
In 1541 Pest was captured by the Turks, together with Buda, and its social and economic life declined during the 150 years of occupation. After its liberation, in the early eighteenth century, it received independent city rights and its development was greatly furthered by the rebirth of commerce.
In 1785 the Hungarian University of Nagyszombat (now Trnava, Slovakia) moved to Pest and thanks to this the city became in the next decade the centre of the country's intellectual life However, in 1838 the great Danube flood swept away almost all the old houses. Once reconstructed, the town began to develop by leaps and bounds, leaving Buda far behind. At the turn of the century, when the old Elizabeth Bridge was built, the new buildings along the main roads gave Pest a characteristic eclectic character.
The modern infrastructural development of the city was most impressive. Bridges were built over the Danube, and the first underground railway of the European continent was opened here in 1896. In 1873 electric lighting was brought to the streets. In 1887 trams appeared, followed in 1888 by the first suburban trains; in 1885 the first urban telephone exchange was installed; in 1896 the Post Office used battery-driven vans for delivering parcels; and in 1900 the Royal Hungarian Automobile Club was founded.

One of the flowers I gave to my wife had a pedal that was bent open. This led to a different opportunity for a floral shot showing the inner workings of this beauty. It has an artistic look to it.
The Bahia Palace is a mid to late 19th-century palace in Marrakesh, Morocco. The palace was first begun in 1859 and then continued and expanded between 1894 and 1900. The palace is most famous for its decoration. Its walls feature stucco carved with Arabic inscriptions, geometric patterns, arabesques, and muqarnas. Its floors are paved with marble and zellij tiles. Among its most famous elements are the cedar-wood ceilings painted with colourful floral patterns, along with the carved and painted wooden canopies of major doorways. The materials for this decoration were imported from all over Morocco, including marble from Meknes (possibly from former Moroccan royal palaces), cedar wood from the Middle Atlas, and tiles from Tetouan. Artisans from all across the country were also employed for the job.
Today it is a well-known historic monument and tourist attraction in the city.

Hi there,
I’ve called this picture Inner light because I believe most of the unhappiness in life comes from being afraid to go straight at things. Fear can stop us doing things we really want to do. That’s what happens often to me and that’s also often the reason why I am getting sad at the end. I’ve missed sometimes great opportunities by being afraid or hesitate to long that’s why I’ve promised myself that I would stop being so shy now. To achieve anything in life it requires faith, belief in yourself and hard work. Sometimes you need to be brave and if it’s only for a short time but it can be totally worth it. At the end you can achieve something you’ve never believed you could achieve. All things are possible when you believe in you!
I will be very busy this weekend so I catch up with all your wonderful streams and pictures when I am back again. *____________*

Just a few of the 65,000+ Farne Island Guillemots, with a couple of Bridled Guillemots for good measure!
Guillemots are the most common auk found in the British Isles. They come to land only to nest, spending the rest of its life at sea, where they are vulnerable to oil spills. Dark brown and white, not as black as the similar razorbill, there is a 'bridled' form with a white ring round the eye and stripe behind it.
During spring Guillemots gather in massive and tightly packed breeding colonies, known as loomeries, on coastal cliffs and rock stacks. The females lay a single egg directly on a ledge. When the chicks are three weeks old they have to take a dramatic plunge from their rocky shelf into the ocean below. Guillemots are also commonly called murres after the deep murmurings made by groups of nesting and fishing birds.
