Did the inks and started on color tonight...will post color once i get a little farther...
I kept some traces of the sketch in the inks. I didn't like how the hard lines lost some life in the translation to ink.So the sketch floating underneath helps retain that initial passion i felt while drawing it...

So I haven't done any art work for ages so I traded in my usual tools for some watercolours and ink. Unsurprisingly I pretty much suck at it. I am slowly improving but most of these are way off.
This one just plain sux.
Airports, jet lag and lost luggage are a vexation to the spirit ... but not London! The people on the tour are great. I'm off on a busy day!

people tend to get emotional about the dog part, but it's about putting the dog out of its misery because he's chained to the burning house that is your past and you're sending him to doggie heaven to be free like you're about to be :)

Tillandsia utricullata on Scrub Live Oak - Oak scrub is a thicket of branches, trapped leaves, all sorts of tillandsias. I was playing with pattern here. Ink and ink wash. Using a nib from my late father - he did all his writing with a dip pen. This nib is Esterbrook Fine Elastic, which is wonderful - will go around corners without snagging or spattering as long as the paper is smooth. Aquabee Super Deluxe, 93 pounds. From one of my photographs. We got 2.5" of rain yesterday - not a day to be outside.
Alternative Facts no.2 ~ the NRA pushing The Hearing Protection Act: in which they want to make silencers easily and widely available to protect the ears of shooters. Apparently regular ear protection gets in the way of the fun. Police organizations are not a fan of silencers....nor would anyone caught in a random mass shooting...hard to duck or run when you think it's just a car backfiring in the distance. On the other hand, the use of headphones on a regular basis, at a level higher than 60db does the same damage as repeated shooting of a gun without protective gear. Statistically in the US, 1 in 5 teens can’t hear rustles or whispers. Personally it just strikes me as a money grab...and a dangerous one at that.
