Infinite Ink Tattoo will be at this years 2009 Tattoo Convention at Navy Pier this Friday-Sunday June 19-21
Purging many of the ink bottles I hardly ever use. I think I went through a phase of being fanatic about ink colors and accumulated a lot. And then it got overwhelming to see so many inks piling up but never being used.
As a result, they were sold off.
Ink and watercolor sketch of August's collection of beans. Local folklore is that for every fog in August there will be a snow in winter. So we put a bean in a jar for each fog in August, and remove a bean each time it snows that winter. The count is always surprisingly close. I was playing around with some ink for a seperate project I'm working on and decided to get a few pictures, this was just a few drops of blue ink, dropped into a clear cube container filled with water, I put said cube on a sheet of white paper to capture the image. Also got to test out the macro feature on my Tamron 70-300. Which to say my camera was mounted over a meter and a half of the ground, I'd say it captured this image pretty well, especially as the cube only measured 6cm on each side!
Materials: De Atramentis Poppy Red, R&K Alt-Goldgrun, Private Reserve Ebony Brown, Noodler's General of the Armies on Stillman & Birn, Beta paper
Hand mixing the ink to a Pantone ref supplied by the artist.

This was my first attempt with a pen and ink/collage with these old movie star postcards. Unfortunately, I managed to spill ink on her twice, so the results weren't quite what I'd hoped for.
