I worked a local job last week. I’m the type that arrives for work about 30min early and the foggy morning provided the perfect opportunity to get some moody shots in, I have my camera with me anytime that I’m out of the house.
PLEASE, no multi invitations (none is better) in your comments. Thanks.

In 2015, crews will be replacing worn rail ties and track components along the stretch of elevated track between the Armitage and Merchandise stations. This portion of Ravenswood Connector Rehabilitation Project will help eliminate slow zones and create a smoother, more reliable ride for the more than 40,000 customers who ride Purple and Brown line trains to and from the Loop each weekday.
Over 13 select weekends thru fall, Brown Line service will be diverted into the Red Line subway after Fullerton to allow for work to be performed.
Work began in late 2013 on the underlying structure, with repair and replacement of well over a thousand steel components. Work to replace the tracks atop the structure has begun, and will allow us to lift slow zones and provide a smoother, faster ride.
These photos show replacement of the tracks over the weekend from the evening of Friday, April 10 thru early Monday morning on April 13, where Brown Line trains were diverted into the subway for service into downtown while crews worked on this elevated part of the system.
One of the last few sets of the Newest CTA cars to traverse over some of the oldest CTA tracks and ties.
Not much to add with this photo. Treadles are placed both before and after the equipment they are intended to control; once to activate it and once to deactivate it once the train has passed.

The parts required for these are very simple and few in number.
TPWS comes in two forms; overspeed and train-stop. The pair of loops placed end to end (left) is the train-stop arrangement and is used at signals to stop a train if the signal is passed when it's red.
The loops spaced apart (right) are the overspeed arrangement. These might be used where a reduction in speed needs to be enforced for safety, such as on approach to a speed restriction or approaching a red signal.
