Another from todays bike ride. This is the Iron Bridge by Vysehrad in Prague and it makes a hell of a noise when a train goes over it!

Como muchas ciudades europeas, Oporto es una ciudad antigua que cuenta con un amplio patrimonio histórico, aunque durante las últimas décadas ha sido sometida a una amplia modernización. Cuenta con el metro más largo de Portugal, que cubre no sólo el Centro, sino también zonas de su área metropolitana como Senhora da Hora o Maia. Asimismo, el aeropuerto internacional Sá Carneiro ha sido recientemente ampliado para permitir una capacidad de 16 millones de pasajeros anuales.
Desde muy antiguo hay una rivalidad entre Lisboa y Oporto. Dicen que esta ciudad tiene un cierto aire británico, desde que se asentaron aquí los comerciantes de vino ingleses. Dice el refrán popular que «Lisboa se divierte, Coimbra canta, Braga reza y Oporto trabaja».

Landscaped Infrastructure 2018 by Dan Bergeron with Gabriel Specter: “I painted that mural with my friend Gabriel Specter. We like to paint murals that are site-specific, meaning we want to think about the location where the mural is going to exist, the history of the site and its possible future uses. We looked at the site, but we realized there wasn’t necessarily a lot there. It’s an overpass train bridge. There are a lot of businesses, some more industrial-type businesses with warehouses.
So, we did some research and we found this house, the Senator Frank O’Connor, who was born in 1885 and died in 1939. His house is still there.
We’re really interested in painting things that are not necessarily obvious right off the bat. We want the viewer to have to look at it to figure out what’s going on. So we used these geometric shapes to break the image up. It’s kind of two different puzzles that we put together."
I have walked here so many times, I forgot how many. Feels like my own neighborhood since I feel so good here. Here I tasted several times the most delicious fish dishes and eaten banana split in the first days of January 2009. This place is very relaxed and cosy. Every time I visited the sun was shining :) It is really a most lovely place and I prefer it before the noisy Algiers.
