It all started with two new OS maps, which wouldn't upload to the app on my phone. A call to the OS ended with a lesson in Android OS upgrade, from Jellybean, through KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo to Pie. The OS only support from Lollipop now, and I was on Jellybean or probably KitKat!
New phone day...
I find it fascinating how sizes go down, and are now going up again!
On the bottom row are all the phones I've ever had since the later 1990's.
On top, an oddity of Alex's, then Dave's phones, at least one of which was an Alex offload...
A play with the Lensbaby on Lancing beach, trying to convey the backwash in a nightmarish way.
My way of a tribute to Keith Flint of The Prodigy.
I always say the 90's passed me by musically, but I always loved hearing this band. Never been to a festival or rave, but I have become quite taken with dance music as I've aged :-)

Another bike ride, this time at the QECP near Petersfield. The trails were lovely and dry, although there were lots of people around the woods doing the QECP Spring Half and full Marathons. Rather them than me: apparently around 2000' of climb, and that might have been only the half marathon distance!
The last time we rode here, I was crying with frustration on the rooty climbs of the red route on my manual bike. Today was a breeze on the e-mtb. So much so, that I abandoned Dave for a final blast on the blue at my own pace, just to see what I could do on Lance!
A walk with Liz across the golf course. We found at least 5 lost balls, not sure what had been happening!
A trip up to London to volunteer with CafeArt's MyLondon camera handout to people affected by homelessness.
Afterwards, I went to the Saatchi Gallery to see an exhibit recommended by one of my fellow volunteers, the work of Ara Güler.
I remembered that the gallery was showing an installation called Fata Morgana as part of it's Kaleidoscope exhibition.
Going in the installation was somewhat underwhelming, but photographing others in there was fascinating.
A better one for the Treasure Hunt perhaps?
Another day in London, this time with an early start for my annual heart check up. All was well, and I escaped to Postmans Park opposite St Barts Hospital for my lunch.
There was a whole wall of tiled panels as tributes for people who lost their lives saving others.
The day ended with chairing a Print Walk at Storrington CC (idea stolen shamelessly from Bognor CC).
Why do people feed the gulls?
There was a nightmarish crowd around this lady, which thinned out as soon as I turned the camera on her. I have recreated the feel with three shots merged in PS.
Also meant to add to the FCB's 52 Week Challenge: Week 14 "Food for Thought"
A one shot kind of day again. The twisted spire of Horsham's St Mary's Church was looking lovely against a blue sky.
Visited the library, TSB and Horsham Museum.
Missed The Kingdom of Snow and Ice Photographic exhibition by Wendy and Michael Ball, but had a lovely time seeing Sarah Duffield's Colourful Places exhibition of artwork, including the four large paintings of the area commissioned for the Horsham District Year of Culture.
A sub-committee meeting then coffee club at the Weald and Downland Living Museum's Waterside Cafe.
A couple fo shots of the roof in case I didn't get around to any more photography. The Lamp saved the day, as I'm not entirely sure what happened to the rest of it!

Simplicity shows us the true beauty of life—a bird flying in the open sky, trusting the wind, and exploring endless possibilities. Life doesn’t need to be complicated; it’s in simple moments that we find clarity and the courage to embrace new opportunities.

Eternal Impression-Photography by Huzzatul Mursalin
Looking out into the garden, I saw four deer, although didn't manage to catch all four together. These are probably escapees from nearby Parham Park. Photographed through glass to avoid spooking them too much, although the one on the left coming back up had stotted away a bit earlier. They were feeling a bit wary, and the front one was walking slowly like a dressage horse!
A wander from Hove Station to Brighton Station via the beach, lunch at The Breakfast Club and the Laines area.
P.S. my meds are working!
More in my photostream...
Mostly taken with the new Lensbaby Velvet 56, which I am still getting used to. Typically I like to open the aperture fully (f1.6) but have tried some at f4-5.6 to compare.
An interesting feature at the reception in my Optician's. You buy a small bottle of glasses cleaning fluid, and come in for free top-ups whenever you need! My glasses have no excuse to get so filthy now, and are much straighter than they've been for months!
Popped into Storrington, and Mark Lewis here was more than happy for me to photograph him, and asked me to send it to the local free magazine. Here's a write-up in the local paper.

Storrington is a popular cross country cut through to get to Gatwick for traffic from Chichester and further west.
The air quality has been being monitored for a couple of years, with little sign of any changes.
Three cameras with firmware updates done.
I did try for a timelapse in the old hay store, with little success, but you can take a look at frame 2 of 2112 in the sequence, and the 1 minute video created from 3 hours of timelapse sequence.
And so the year ends. My 6th full year of 365-ing, with a 7th failing after 2 months in 2016...
Camera Club photoshoot to Parham House and Gardens, to meet Elizabeth Zeschin. Elizabeth is the Artist in Residence, and has an exhibition of her cyanotype and Salt Prints in the Seed Room until the end of June. We had been invited to meet her, and she very generously gave us a "tour" of her darkroom a mile away. I say tour as 7 of us only just fitted in, with no room for movement!
Worth a visit, especially if you are RHS members, because entry to the Gardens (where the Seed Room is situated) is free on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Exhibition 2-5pm.
Afternoon spent decimating rhododendrons, kept having to wheel the barrow around this little fungus, as I knew I wanted to snap it for the POTD.

The Guggenheim (officially the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum). Founded by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in 1937 as the Museum of Non-Objective Painting, it was renamed after it's founder's death in 1952.
The current building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) and built in 1959.
A day of rest after the weekend. All I could come up with was this. These were in my late Mum's jewellery box, and were given to her by her aunt, who I am named for. I love the link to a very characterful lady, and must wear these sometime!
Photos from leading a Photowalk for MyBrighton and Hove Photo Project. I realised that the participants would all know Brighton far better than me, so borrowed Ken Scott's workshop ideas for a photowalk. Thanks Ken!
It was bitterly cold out, but we managed to find some colour and shapes.
Two adjoining litter bins make it as my POTD.
After a long day travelling home, all I could think of was Norway "So long and thanks for all the fish"
My little dolphin hadn't travelled with me, although his Orca friend had. Photographed in front of the screen with an image of the hot tub on the ship's deck.
Treasure Hunt 58: Quote.
These mushrooms have been catching my eye for a few days. When the sun came out, I walked down to try and capture the full effect. The largest was probably the size of a dinner plate!
Seen in front of a stable in a nearby horses field.
Treasure Hunt 63: Stable
Its been one of those days with lots of bit and pieces going on. While washing the car, I realised that it needed a new rear wiper blade. Got this to show the guy in the car parts Aladdin's cave in case it was needed. It probably wasn't, but confirmed that I had the right one...
A one shot kinda day...
Out on the mountain bikes again, but I forgot my camera.
As I was about to get in the bath, the sun was reflecting off the surface, creating these light sprites.
Not to self, clean the woodwork more frequently...
Went to Poole Harbour Museum with Liz because I wanted to see the exhibition there on the work of Jack Lowe with The Lifeboat Station Project.
This is the apron used by Jack to process his wet plate collodion images at each of the lifeboat stations he visited over the first four years of this project. His work is absolutely gorgeous, and I recommend it if you're in the area up to the 22nd April.
Another lacklustre day, but afternoon tea with a piece of wedding cake cheered me up.
Treasure Hunt 13: Afternoon Tea
A session on retouching using a Wacom at Park Cameras, there were several stands including Wild Arena, where these fungi were overheating a bit.
A few quick snaps...
A day in Brighton. Beguiling shadows falling on this wall with its graffiti.

And the Treasure Hunt is completed with this one!
As my flashguns weren't playing ball on Boxing Day, and torrential rain had stopped other forms of play, I dug out this 1500 piece jigsaw. I was trying to finish it before our son and his family arrived, but that looked unlikely. It had to be carefully moved to the back of the room to avoid 3 year old Oliver "helping". However, my DIL was a great help, as she loves jigsaws, and we finished it later in the evening.
