Summer has finally arrived and with the longer days of glazing sunlight we prepare for vacation and time with family and friends. This year feels different though because suddenly we cannot travel far distances, see our relatives and worst of all not even plan for tomorrow.
Despite this I hope and wish that this Summer will work miracles . Let's heal ourselves with dreams of a better future where love can cure anything.
I feel optimistic despite my fears of the unknown.

Crazy Tuesday: In the middle
Such a dreary, rainy day today. I wanted to use the rain to my advantage for this photo idea and have the heart in between the two raindrops (representing the tears shed for the people of Ukraine) but when I clipped it to the branch, the big drops fell. No problem, the heart is still in the middle of the frame so hopefully this image still works for the theme. My heart hurts for those involved with the conflicts going on in this world and I am struggling to understand how people can inflict pain on other human beings. It is truly heartbreaking. 💔

But only a very small hole. At least here in my tiny piece of wood and in my small macro world. Otherwise, unfortunately, it looks just different in the big wide world. We need something like squaring the circle as soon as possible, right?

Aber nur ein ganz kleines Loch. Jedenfalls hier in meinem winzigen Holzstück und in meiner kleinen Makrowelt. Sonst sieht es gerade leider anders aus in der großen weiten Welt. Da brauchen wir möglichst bald so etwas wie die Quadratur des Kreises, oder?

Ingredients: square piece of wood (cuboid, 0.43 inches) with a hole as a circle (I found it in the garage a time ago and added it to my collection to my Macro Mondays box – for the little things that you can always use sometimes...) birch bark as a background, glass box as spacer for a bright hole, daylight.

Zutaten: Quadratisches Holzstück (Quader, 11 mm) mit einem Loch als Kreis (Ich habe es irgendwann in der Garage gefunden und zu meiner Sammlung in meine Macro-Mondays-Kiste dazugefügt – für die kleinen Dinge, die man immer mal gebrauchen kann ...), Birkenrinde als Hintergrund, Glasbox als Abstandshalter für ein helles Loch, Tageslicht.

sorry .. this time i got no better image for Crazy Tuesday. i spend some time today at naturepark rheine .. i love this park and his animals. unfortunately i didn't get back from an aid delivery for ukraine until monday morning. i find the current situation in europe very stressful and frustrating. I hope for better days!

This weeks Crazy Tuesday theme of "In the middle" made me get out my childhood memory of a Gyroscope.
This one is approximately 3 inches or 7.5 cm across but is unfortunately out of balance so it no longer stands up when you operate it.

Crazy Tuesday - In the Middle
This wall is constructed of yellow stock bricks that were made at our local brickworks....they are laid in an English Bond pattern.
This is one of the most commonly utilised variations of brick bonds in masonry works. This bond essentially comprises of alternating courses of headers and stretchers. Headers are laid centred over the stretchers in the course below and each alternate row is vertically aligned. English Bond is mainly used to construct strong one brick thickness walls.

This fine old working windmill was found at a farmstead on Sage Road in Bertrand Township of Berrien County, Michigan, just north of the Indiana-Michigan state line.

A path to heaven in Thingvellir National Park with some zoom blur. The rocks are covered with moss. Most of Iceland seems to be moss covered. This path is between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. To the right is the North American Plate. To the left is the Eurasian Plate. Straight ahead is Heaven.
