In a desperate attempt to be reunited with Romeo, Juliet follows the Friar's plot and fakes her own death. The message fails to reach Romeo, and believing Juliet dead, he takes his life in her tomb. Juliet wakes to find Romeo's corpse beside her and kills herself. The grieving family agree to end their feud.
As the Nurse chases after Romeo, (Act 1, Scene 5) Juliet says, "If he be married. My grave is like to be my wedding bed" . She means that if Romeo is married, she will die unmarried, because she will never marry another, but in the end her grave does become her wedding bed.
Her statement is also an acknowledgement of her youth and foreshadowing of her early death.
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" (Act 2, Scene 2) is a popular reference to William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, in which Juliet seems to argue that it does not matter that Romeo is from her family's rival house of Montague, that is, that he is named "Montague".

I froze some old Kodak 200 film in water filled Ziploc bag and put it on some aluminum foil.

Image made for the December 29 Macro Mondays group's theme, "Redux 2025." Because I didn't do the "In Ice" theme this past June, I chose to 'redux' it this week.
Macro Mondays Theme: In Ice
I froze so many things to try for this weeks theme including lots of things from my garden, one of them being this grass seed head. It pretty much floated on the water despite me trying to push it under, so this was straight out of the freezer with only a little bit defrosting. Lit with 2 of my SmallRig lights with coloured filters on them.
Always appreciate your comments and favourites, HMM everyone!
Explored on 15th June, position 170.
For this week's MM challenge: "In Ice"
Sadly not silver and gold coins, but small chocolate ones!
The kitchen has been awash with melting ice blocks this weekend ... such fun trying out ideas and trying to get just enough of a melt to see what's inside the ice block!
This slice of my chocolate wealth measures just under 2"
So the entire shot almost fills the 3" max.

Another attempt at my gone afoul project to create something looking remotely like a dinosaur melting out of an ice sheet. This Triceratops looks like... well I'm not sure what he looks like but nothing like what I was hoping for. Oh well that's the fun of challenge groups - a chance to learn new things.
Happy Macro Monday!
A tiny sprig of mint frozen into ice is a lovely way to cool a summer beverage.
Taken for Macro Mondays "In Ice"
A frozen beauty.
I am taking an online class in frozen flower photography. Here is one of my first attempts.

An entire story sealed in a sphere. The fruit’s color still glows through the ice, like a secret waiting to melt out.
Depending upon the mood, eh?… I have 16 subjects all told and a couple with a couple of orientations. Just told a bud that there will be major dithering in the next few hours!! I’ll try to leave a link to the album somewhere close by when I get the possibilities narrowed down a bit!
For those who are curious, this is a cord keeper which you stick on someplace and it minds your phones power cord …. grinning bc I’m apt to be buying cute things- especially if they’re small and colorful. This measures out as about 3cms.
…….💙🆒 HMM 🆒💙
Update 6/16….. after all the objects had dried out, I decided to try the cord keeper on a piece of furniture I wasn’t totally fond of. Peeled off the backing stick it on and the cord minder stuck and held for a few hours. Don’t know if it was the ice, the water or the weight, but it gave up the ghost several hours later. I’ll try again with another one and will report back!
Plastic fishing lure in 1.3-inch frame. Looks like a real fish, doesn't it? It's an old one that my husband was discarding. He removed the hooks so easier to use for photography.
For Macro Mondays, In Ice
Baroque pearls and petals from a pink Knockout rose, frozen in ice for the Macro Mondays theme, "In Ice."
This was a shot I didn't add to the group. But it has its good points.
i have been quite enjoying the MacroMonday challenge this week - making ice cubes with things inside them has been full of small surprises especially the bubbles and opaque crystals that form patterns in the ice.
Lots of rejected ice cubes are now melting alongside the few that i liked. Several didn't even get a camera pointed at them. But now I cant work out what is best from the 3 that have made my short list for posting to the MacroMonday group.
Ramones - Everytime I Eat Vegetables It Makes Me Think Of You
Warm tones trapped in a cold block. Hazel nuts frozen mid-melt — texture, light, and contrast all locked in.
I was not able to participate in the last two Macro Monday challenges due to a major ice storm which we lost power for 12 days. If I had been able to submit I would have used this photo of my wife's and my wedding rings in ice. My backup was Buttons on Ice.
If you fav this photo please leave a comment as to why you like it, thanks in advance.
Snow White figure incased in ICE.
I was going for a glass casket imagery.
