It's Valentine Day and tomorrow's Macro Mondays theme is "In Ice". The small roses from my wife's beading stash are still on my workspace from the Looking Close ... on Fridays "Rose" theme so why not some red roses frozen In Ice?
Again, the Roses are some 11 - 12 mm in width so I decided to mount the 100mm Macro lens on extension tubes to capture images as the ice melted. These were captured as the edges of the petals became free of the ice cube.
You get relative clear ice when cooling down takes long. I put it on the outside windowsill where it got frozen
The requirement for Monday's Macro Mondays group theme is to photograph something frozen in ice. I decided on a half walnut

This photo was taken looking past the old Hall Of Clestrain - and the low-lying Island Of Graemsay - towards the Hoy Hills. It was on a September evening and there is nice pink sunset light on that long curved cloud.
By the way there is also a very new moon just visible above the curved cloud near the left of this photo.

This rose is unlucky as this weeks theme is "frozen in ice". Instead of shining on our diningroom table, this rose ended up in a plastic bowl filled with water and placed in the freezer for the night....Brrrrr .....
This is a small, hand-painted, tree frog carved from a tagua nut. I purchased it from a vendor while visiting Cartagena, Colombia several years ago. You can see a better picture of it here.
Taken, but not used for Macro Monday’s June 16 theme of In Ice.
Fooling around with stuff frozen into ice. Prompted by this theme in Macro Mondays.
Chili pepper flakes float, so I didn't manage to get these fully buried in the ice. I'd like to try again sometime with another round of freezing and a thin over-layer of ice. But for this time, I was eager to get on the photography. This result would not qualify for the MM theme, but I still like the photo.
My daughter has given me a list of subjects for each of us to do during the "Troubles".
This is "In Ice" and reflects how my favourite hobby is sort of on ice because of the lockdown.
