Throughout 2018 I have been busy working on a new photographic project in Scotland using my miniature figurines (the 'Little People').
My main hope is that this new series of photographs will help highlight the plastic / litter epidemic our country (and planet) is suffering from. Littering in general has always sickened me, and the 'Blue Planet II effect' really made me feel like I too could help highlight the issue using my own unique approach.
Earlier this year, I spent several days collecting bags full of plastic and rubbish that had been discarded (or washed up) next to beaches and lochs on the west coast of Scotland, mostly 'beauty' spots. I kept some of this plastic to make my work (recycling the rest) and returned to the banks of Loch Lomond a couple of months ago to photograph my latest series - LIFE IN PLASTIC.
Thanks for looking.

She gave us love. We got her from a rescue shelter.
Her fur was so soft. She could be feisty, loved our garden and her many places in the house to curl up in, including our laps.

The Plaza de España ("Spain Square", in English) is a plaza located in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It is a landmark example of the Regionalism Architecture, mixing elements of the Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival (Neo-Mudéjar) styles in Spanish architecture.

I wanted to go back in my mind to Lisbon this week and revisit some of my photos from there before the pandemic started. What I ended up finding is that there were a few photos that seemed to tell a story of a turbulent relationship. At the same time, I recently watched the film The Worst Person in the World so the way relationships work or just don't work has been occupying my thoughts a lot lately.
I've had the good luck of finding my partner when I was just 18 and have that relationship last but I do have friends that don't really relate to the idea of wanting to be in a relationship and I think that's interesting too. Humans are kind of limited in the way they see things...you're either in a relationship or not/single. But, this also subconsciously presents the idea that you might want to be or even should be in a relationship and they clearly aren't for everyone.
I think the pandemic itself really put relationships to the test. Though my own grew stronger, I had a few colleagues and friends get divorced. In the American work obsessed culture, it is fairly easy as time goes by to become very career focused and start changing as a person. I think when two people do that, they might become a bit different than how they started out, especially after a number of years. There were all kinds of control issues people manifested too in sometimes dangerous ways. But, in addition, there were also couples who, when face to face all 24 hours didn't really recognize each other anymore.
In any case, this next week's series is about the arc of a new relationship and, it starts out with the want to be in one. The longing to share your ideas and experiences with someone can be quite a strong one and is what might cause you to consider the idea that you'd actually want to be with someone else.

It's bloomed out there.
I drift around, a cool wind is blowing
still, but the sun is strong enough,
to put color in my face.
A strong light and clarity lies over the gardens.
Nature is a gentle healer, so I am with her as often as I can.

Congratulations to our Bachelor in Management (BSc) students at ESCP who graduated on April 12th, 2025 in Berlin. The graduates lived and studied around Europe, switching between three of the School’s campuses each semester. Their journey came to a close here in Berlin with an official ceremony, followed by cocktail reception with family and friends.

This is the entrance to a carpenter ant home in a stump in our back yard. I'm thinking that I should kill off the colony before it spreads to the house, but will have to study a little more. In the meantime, they seemed like good subjects!

For me, luxury is something deeply personal, something that is highly shaped by one’s personality. It’s is actually quite a whole lot of things, things you can measure, like clothes, accessories, and things that are about emotions, time, interests and hobbies.

I was going through my archives of hundreds of thousands of photographs as one often does, when I came across this image of my daughter when she was 4 years old running through the cedars of Lebanon and it made me catch my breath. She is now 13, and time has tricked us all again. How relentless it is, never pausing, never letting us catch our breath. [ 54 more words ]
#90806 Students and staff in discussion at the beginning of the sit-in at Guildford School of Art. 13th June 1968 The sit-in was the longest ever at a UK education establishment and led directly to students being on the boards of all establishments today.
I had just told her about the guy who karate jumped (shot him the evening before), and she was as amused as I was. Because she's in the theater group, I asked her if she would try to fly (like Wendy in Peter Pan -- since her dress reminded me of a nightgown). She replied "play flying or real flying?" Given that choice, of course I had to choose real.
I'm still dumb-founded.
