Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Another timeless outfit on the streets of the city and looking a little 'flapper' glamorous in 20-30s style. Enjoy!
Queens of the Stone Age "In the Fade"
I especially loved the tiny little hexagon plate, not yet developed into a dendrite, kind of 'nestled in the arms' of a fully formed dendrite snowflake.
... of spring/summer!
Sadly, my camera collected a lot of dust last year, and the few images I took are still mostly unprocessed. I took this photo in July, and it wasn't what I was intending, as typically the very interesting bee that I was trying to photograph flew out of the harebell and off into the distance. I liked the dreamy feel of the image though and, for me, it sums up happy days trying to photograph bugs that usually don't cooperate.

This very old cemetery just north of Henry,IL. seems to have been forgotten. In the woods outside a small, crudely walled in section, are headstones and markers buried in debris, laying against trees, and just plain desecrated.Almost all date from the mid to late 1800's.It is a tragic and kind of puzzling situation that deserves attention...and correcting.
This is not what I call eternal rest....
with my macro lens! Wow, that's all I have to say. I just love taking these macro shots! There is just so much you don't see unless you use macro lens. This is a teeny tiny bud that is just beginning to open up! I love the little red inside! Hope you like as well!
Please oh please see me large on black
Have a fabulous Friday Friends!

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. A composition that I loved and a pair of characters coming along at the right time. Perfectly in step with each other and cigarette in mouth. Best viewed full screen, enjoy!
As we start July 2021 I thought I'd look back and see what I was shooting last July. And I found one of our Simple Pleasures sitting in the shade, under the trees at Fyvie Castle.
Shot with the Canon EOS 70D and the Helios 44-2 lens.
Happy MBT and Donnerstagsmonochrom 😊

Captured in: Copenhagen, Denmark.
This is a painterly view of the busy Copenhagen Nyhavn or "New Harbor". The Nyhavn is a historical 17th-century waterfront, canal and entertainment district. It's known for its brightly colored townhouses, bars, cafes and restaurants, and is quite a popular location in this capital city.

"Lunchtime in Copenhagen" is a non-HDR image that was processed using a combination of ACR, Photoshop and various Topaz Labs Plugins (Adjust, Denoise, Glow, and Impression).
Finally a bee in flight :) Its interesting to shoot such small creatures in flight, the background is a mix of two things the purple is a flower and the blue is Jeans of the fellow sitting in the background
These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
We arrived in late morning in Bath by train from London. Spent one night here and most of the next day.
Bath Abbey is a parish church of the Church of England and former Benedictine monastery in Bath, Somerset, England. Founded in the 7th century, it was reorganised in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries; major restoration work was carried out by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the West Country. The medieval abbey church served as a sometime cathedral of a bishop. After long contention between churchmen in Bath and Wells the seat of the Diocese of Bath and Wells was later consolidated at Wells Cathedral. The Benedictine community was dissolved in 1539 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

Sunrise light illuminates the varied landscapes of the Andean Altiplano looking into the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna. The previous night of thunderstorms, rain, and sleet had scrubbed the atmosphere of particulates. Puna grassland, shrublands, and scattered cushion plants (Azorella compacta, bright green dots in the foreground) occur throughout this vast highland, with elevations ranging from 13,000-18,000+ feet/ 4000-5500+ m.

My scanner can't handle 5x7 film negative, so my workflow is to make a contact print and then scan it.
This negative turned out to be a challenge for my skills as a printer.
After several times in the darkrooom, I got something.
Maybe in a few years, I can make it even better. There are no simple digital presets in my darkroom. Only my beginner skills.

The regional Strassenbahn network in the Greater Frankfurt area has some cheerfully decked out coaches! I was traveling on the S5 from Bad Homburg to Frankfurt when impulse got the better of me and I took this photograph!
In faded Railfreight Distribution livery, 47313 passes Ripple Lane with 7O58, the 0952 Dagenham to Dollands Moor working, conveying car components between Ford's factories at Dagenham and Valencia (Silla) in Spain.
This working has ran continually via the channel tunnel since opening in June 1994. As pictured here, in the early years it was routed through London to reach Kent and the tunnel, but in 2020 it is the only regular freight to use the UK's only high speed rail route - HS1.
There is a connection between HS1 and the conventional rail network just west of Dagenham Dock station, and the same swap bodies are now tripped to Ripple Lane from Dagenham and then taken down HS1 to Dollands Moor to acccess the tunnel.
Behind the train is the remains of Ripple Lane yard, where in years gone by oil trains from Thameshaven and Shellhaven were staged. Ripple Lane freightliner terminal was still open at the time of my photograph, receiving a daily train from Southampton.
