A partire da lunedì 14 ottobre 2024 sono in programma una serie di iniziative di rilevanza internazionale organizzate presso l’Università di Pavia in occasione del World Food Day, la Giornata mondiale dell’alimentazione del 16 ottobre, istituita per ricordare l'anniversario della data di fondazione della FAO, l’Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite per l'alimentazione e l'agricoltura, avvenuta il 16 ottobre 1945.
Presso l’Ateneo pavese si riunirà l’Advisory Council della CISG. La CISG-AC è un'iniziativa privata globale che mira a promuovere un'interpretazione uniforme della CISG, la Convenzione sulla vendita internazionale di beni mobili del 1980. I membri che si riuniranno a Pavia sono più di quindici studiosi, giuristi e specialisti, provenienti da nove paesi, soprattutto extraeuropei, che periodicamente si confrontano per trovare idee e per una comprensione più profonda delle questioni relative alla Convenzione e al commercio dei beni, tra cui quelli alimentari.
In tale occasione (dal 15 al 17 ottobre 2024) si svolgerà presso UniPv la “Food Law and Agenda 2030”, la Scuola Intensiva di Studi universitari avanzati dell’Università di Pavia e del Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza in collaborazione con altre importanti Istituzioni Universitarie e Collegi.
Il secondo e il terzo modulo di questa attività vengono sviluppati come seminario sul tema della “CISG, Sustainability and Food Law” e si terranno nei pomeriggi del 16 e 17 ottobre (15:30-19:30) in Aula Foscolo.
Nell'ultimo panel della giornata verrà presentata la traduzione autorizzata in italiano del professor Alfredo Ferrante del Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza della “Legal Guide to Uniform Instruments in the Area of International Commercial Contracts, with a Focus on Sales” una guida che offre una panoramica degli strumenti di diritto uniforme nel settore dei contratti commerciali internazionali elaborata dall’Haya, Unidroit e dalle Nazioni Unite.
In occasione della Giornata Mondiale dell’Alimentazione nella mattinata del 16 ottobre, dalle ore 11:00, si terrà presso il Salone Teresiano della Biblioteca Universitaria, la Bonacossa Lecture 2024 una lectio magistralis aperta al pubblico del professor Alejandro Garro della Columbia Law School di New York. La lezione sarà dedicata all’"Accesso al credito agricolo per una maggiore sostenibilità alimentare" ("Access to agricultural credit for greater food sustainability: a comparative legal perspective").
Il professor Garro è altresì Honorary Professor presso l’Università di Buenos Aires; le sue ricerche e gli scritti esplorano vari aspetti del diritto contrattuale comparato, applicato nel contesto dell'arbitrato commerciale internazionale e delle controversie.
Questa ultima attività contribuisce ad ampliare le ricerche in ambito extraeuropeo del Centro Studi Popoli Extraeuropei (CSPE) con particolare attenzione all’America, affiancandosi all’attività che questo centro universitario già svolge, in altre realtà, come Africa e Asia.

In the 1940s the Amur tiger was on the brink of extinction, with no more than 40 tigers remaining in the wild. Thanks to vigorous anti-poaching and other conservation efforts by the Russians with support from many partners, including WWF, the Amur tiger population recovered and has remained stable throughout the last decade or so.
But poaching of tigers and its prey, increased logging and construction of roads, forest fires and inadequate law enforcement are threats that affect the survival of the species.
WWF, in partnership with Russian authorities and other NGOs, is helping establish an ecological network of protected areas (Econet) to secure well-connected habitat for the Amur tiger, funds anti-poaching patrols in the Russian Far East and supports an ungulate recovery programme. WWF is collaborating with the Russian authorities and other partners in the recent survey of Amur tigers.
Thanks to conservation efforts, including by WWF, the population now numbers 431–529 individuals. This population is the largest unfragmented tiger population in the world.
The subspecies is restricted to the Sikhote-Alin range in the Primorski and Khabarovski provinces of the Russian Far East, and possibly to small pockets in the border areas of China and North Korea.

Nguyen Du has chosen to describe here in the most beautiful words and images, in order to erect before our eyes a real face of Khanh Linh's "ten and ten". A face with clear eyes, quiet, gentle, as blue as autumn water. Is there a more beautiful and gentler eye than that? The eyes of a beautiful beauty that only one look will make me flutter. Unlike Thuy Van, Nguyen Du describes in detail the entire face, in Khanh Linh, he only describes points, taking points to describe the face. As we often say, "the eyes are the windows to the soul" of a person, so here, Nguyen Du has delicately described Kieu's eyes. Those eyes are both beautiful and gentle, reflecting the deep sadness of autumn. Not only that, Nguyen Du also described Khanh Linh's eyebrows as a spring mountain feature "spring paint". It is a gentle, loving, strangely attractive beauty. And just through those two points, we can also see a soul that is both pure and deep in Khanh Linh's soul.

Piazza San Marco, often known in English as St Mark's Square, is the principal square of Venice, Italy.
A remark often attributed to Napoleon (but perhaps more correctly to Alfred de Musset) calls the Piazza San Marco "The drawing room of Europe". It is one of the few great urban spaces in a Europe where human voices prevail over the sounds of motorized traffic, which is confined to Venice's waterways. It is the only urban space called a piazza in Venice; the others, regardless of size, are called campi.
As the central landmark and gathering place for Venice, Piazza San Marco is extremely popular with tourists, photographers, and Venetian pigeons.
The Piazza originated in the 9th century as a small area in front of the original St Mark's Basilica. It was enlarged to its present size and shape in 1177, when the Rio Batario, which had bounded it to the west, and a dock, which had isolated the Doge's Palace from the square, were filled in. The rearrangement was for the meeting of Pope Alexander III and the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa.
The Piazza has always been seen as the centre of Venice. It was the location of all the important offices of the Venetian state, and has been the seat of the archbishopric since the 19th century. It was also the focus for many of Venice's festivals. It is a greatly popular place in Italy even today.
