Neulich auf einen Kurztripp nach Berlin habe ich mich mal in der Streetfotografie probiert...

Spotted at the Route 66 Festival in Springfield, MO last month....I'm sure some guys were dreaming of this colorful beauty! HTT

Lake Almanor

Plumas County

California

From the 2018 archives

Lake Almanor was formed by Canyon Dam on the North Fork of the Feather River, which was completed in 1914. The lake has been a popular recreation area for more than a century.

Fire maps show the Dixie Fire burning all around Lake Almanor. This massive fire had grown to more than 320,000 acres and was 35% contained as of the morning of July 5, 2021. It is now the sixth largest fire in California history. It is already burning parts of Lassen National Park and has leveled one Gold Rush town.

The wildfires around the world are devastating, and we must act now!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

I'm often struck at the differences in styles, preferences, and processing that photographers/artists display and pursue.

One loves realism, another prefers an abstract look.

Some want pure, out of camera images, others love graphics and a lot of manipulation.

I guess I like it all and dabble with any style and representation that strikes my fancy.

The image above is a perfect example of that.

Love it or hate it, that's fine. Art is about freedom and it is about expression, and whatever makes the artist happy. It's not always about what others think and how it will be received or embraced.

So, enjoy... (if you can) Either way, it's all good :)

When we first laid eyes on our puppy (a little over a year before this image of her was taken), the color told us immediately that her name must be Sedona. So, when we had a chance to take her there, of course she had to have multiple photo shoots in the region. This is one of the images from along the Oak Creek, after enduring a long 4x4 adventure that she didn't particularly enjoy, she was pleased to relax and take in the view from a stable seated position.

Congrats on Explore!

Watercolour on 140 lb Arches Cold Press paper.

This was done in a workshop at our local art centre today. The daisies were masked first, then the paper was wet totally, the background laid down and the surrounding grasses and flowers added. When dry the misket was removed and shadow was then added on the daisies. I may do a little more work on this tomorrow after I have a fresh look at it.
