LATE POST - Last pictures from Ecuador

On a different trip I visited Ecuador again but this time with 2 friends we crossed the border from Colombia to go to TULCÁN, a city that is known for its 3-acre topiary garden cemetery, probably the most elaborate topiary in the world, created in 1936. The garden features animals, angels, Incan symbols, and iconic creatures squatting in a row.

This collector was displaying 4 restored cub cadets. Closest is a Cub Cadet Original, built between 1959 and 1962. The next is a 100, built in 1963 and 1964. Behind the 100 is a 103, their first Cub with Hydrostatic Drive, dating to about 1967. At the back of the row is a 1650, which was built in the mid 1970s, and features an isolation mounted engine, hydrostatic drive, and hydraulic lift for the attachments.

The early Cubs were tough little tractors, and a lot of them still see regular use as they were intended.

Vista Verde Memorial Park, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, September 11, 2019.

For the 10th year in a row, Rio Rancho showed it will never forget the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. There were 2,996 American flags, each commemorating a life lost that day were planted the morning of September 6th, 2019, and were fluttering in a gentle breeze Wednesday evening when Vista Verde Memorial Park conducted its memorial service. “We aren’t gonna forget,” Vista Verde Memorial Park General Manager Eric Moen told the gathering, explaining that another 2,996 white flags in a circle each had the name of a 9/11 victim on it.

Several hundred people turned out for the hour-long service. There was flag-raising by members of the Cleveland High JROTC, Girl Scouts from Troop 7135 leading the pledge of allegiance, Christina Kotila singing the national anthem, an invocation by Rio Rancho Police Chaplain Allen Sutton and opening remarks — and a proclamation — from Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull. “It’s been 18 years — our children need to be reminded of what happened and their children need to be reminded,” Hull said. “Others gave so I may enjoy this freedom.”

Beverley Coronation Gardens far end and mainly out of sight, left to ruins with weeds rusty railings and over grown with ivy. So mush history here going to ruins, such a shame. No notice to say who owns this grave yard.

Lexus put together a great event for consumers, and enthusiasts; F-Sport Track Day @ Homestead Speedway

They had the IS-C, IS350, IS-F, and GS350 equipped with F-Sport Accessories available for a test drive on an Auto-X course which they had setup.

After that they offered a hot lap around the track in an IS-F and an LF-A...

This event was FREE, lets see another car manufacturer host such an inviting event.

No wonder they're the best selling car the last 10 years in a row!

Arrived at my spot around 10:30AM, left at 6:10PM.

A little over 80F. and a light breeze. Perfect weather for hanging out for a few hours. There were a couple cars there, but I didn't see any people besides one guy who kept getting in/out of his Jeep. Okay, whatever.

10 minutes after getting there I heard the first train coming around the bend, and what a train it was, couple engines, and 78 autoracks in a row! What a way to start of my day.

15-20 minutes after I got to the spot, I messaged my friend Keith @railfanscajonpass that I was out there, he said he was on his way, he got there an hour or so later. By that time I'd already flicked 7-8 trains. One of the busiest days I've had in a long time. They just kept coming up and down the hill. I had planned to hike up the hill to look for a couple other spots to shoot from, but the trains just kept coming.

There's also some great under the bridges graff out at this spot, and I just didn't have time to hike over to it and flick it. There's also a spot close by that the RR stores ties, track, and equipment, I wanted to get some shots of that, again, no time.

Anyway, RRfans,(Keith) & Buddy hung out for another 5-6 hours until the sun dipped behind the mountains at about 6:00pm, and it was starting to get dark. Spent the day waiting, and listening for the engines chugging up the hill, or the horns blaring in the distance so we could finally jump up and do what we were both there to do. Him to film the trains and give his commentary, and me to get my flicks. He's a good dude to hang out with, good conversation, talk about life, problems, trains, etc.. Time just goes by so quick until the next train and we both get to work.

Saw lots of trucks, motorcycles, and loads of Jeeps drive through to go out exploring the local trails only to leave within' 20 minutes or so. There's miles and miles of trails out there, but it seems people get bored fast...

Had a great time, saw pieces from some of my favorite writers, and some writers I talk to occasionally.

It was a great day, and day I really needed personally, I've had a rough last few weeks, and I haven't been trackside in over a month. It was great to get out to the familiar sounds and smells of being out there next to the trains.

Backgrounds at this location are kind of boring, but the amount of freights and great pieces that come through here is crazy.

For the 2nd year in a row young upstart CLIO, who makes legal practice management software, invited me to come hang out and photograph their staff Christmas party in Vancouver. This is one of the fastest growing companies in the world and they definitely share the same work hard play hard ethos as many of my other favorite young technology startup clients like Hootsuite, Shopify, Tune & Connect. :)

For the sixth year in a row Airlie Gardens, in Wilmington, N.C., is excited to host their summer art exhibit, July 7th-October 28th 2018! Airlie Gardens has selected artists or teams of artists to decorate, paint, and otherwise adorn one of the 15 oversized 5-foot-tall fiberglass Garden Gnome models. These Garden Gnomes are placed throughout the grounds for guests to enjoy as part of their garden experience. The hope for this outdoor exhibit is it will be a collection that appeals to all. The artists' designs were selected based on creativity, craftsmanship, use of materials, the ability to appeal to all age groups, outdoor sustainability and durability. The exhibit is included in general garden admission and free for Airlie Members.

Congratulations to our 2018 Exhibit Artists!

I didn't like to see all this wheat being flattened and spoiled. See previous post for info.

排排站-台北-最近台北市的腳踏車變多了,雖然這個熱潮有一點點消退的跡象。Recently the amount of bicycle become more and more, although the boom has a little sign of subsiding.

I know there's a killer caption here somewhere but I can't come up with it.

Any ideas folks?
