When I was made redundant last year, part of my package included a period of career-transition advice with Penna.

Today I met with my coach Paul to look over where I’m currently at with my business and to discuss how best to develop it going forward.

Chatting over coffee and biscuits, we talked over my plans and ideas and Paul gave me some useful advice and suggestions. He also had a look at my website and suggested some minor tweaks which I shall implement in the coming days.

My homework before we meet again at the end of January is to prepare a marketing plan.

This is some sort of farm implement. Don't know how long it has been there, but it appears to have been there for a while.

Where we stand: global commitments,

implementation of NDCs in Mediterranean countries Plenary Session 1

This session will be an introductory session to the Sixth Mediterranean Forest Week and present the current situation regarding the role of Mediterranean forests in global commitments (including targets on LDN and Aichi targets) and the role of LULUCF in implementing the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of the Mediterranean countries.

Using a concrete example, this session will show how the three Rio Conventions can be complementary

The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is hosting the Sixth edition of the Mediterranean Forest Week (VIth MWF) at the Grand Hills Hotel, Broumana, on 1–5 April 2019. The weeklong event brings together policy and decision makers, forest administrators, researchers, practitioners, donors, civil society organizations, and social and environmental based non–governmental organizations to share and promote the use of forest–based solutions to assist Mediterranean countries in the implementation of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.

WAHA International is implementing a comprehensive strategy to increase the availability and quality of fistula repair services by providing medicines and surgical supplies, improving patient transportation and training health personnel in countries where we work. By making fistula treatment more readily available, we hope to reach more patients and increase the coverage of care in each country.

To launch this strategy, WAHA International, in partnership with Direct Relief International and the Guri Foundation, delivered medical supplies for fistula repair in a ceremony in Niamey, Niger, on November 5th. The initiative has strengthened the fight against obstetric fistula in Niger and made up for the shortage of material in healthcare facilities by establishing a central repository of resources for the treatment of all fistula cases in the country.

March 23, 2012 - "Implementing the Volcker Rule" The Volcker Rule, as authorized by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, is a controversial piece of banking legislation. The Volcker Rule prohibits banking organizations from proprietary trading as well as from owning or sponsoring private equity or hedge funds. Many fear that these regulations will negatively impact the earnings of the countries' major banks. Others claim that the rule will be able to increase transparency within the financial sector and banks. They say the rule will also reduce risks taken in financial institutions with investors' money. The Penn Program on Regulation together with the law firm of Morrison and Foerster LLP hosted a conference in Washington, D.C. in the hope of having a meaningful dialogue surrounding the Volcker Rule's effects on the banks, trading, and the economy at large. The discussion brought together members of the financial, governmental, and legal sectors. Notable participants were Penn Program on Regulation Director Cary Coglianese; PPR faculty affiliates Jill Fisch, Richard Herring, and David Skeel; Andrew Green from the Office of U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley; and Morrison & Foerster partners Charles Horn, Oliver Ireland, and Dwight Smith.
