One of a series of "Implements" I made in the 1980's.

These are interesting little farm implements. Apparently made from about 1972-1980 ?. Powered by a Chrysler Slant 6 Engine, mounted horizontally. It appears that some of the engine shrouding is missing. A little search on the internet shows that a lot of them are still operating and are quite popular.

As part of the implementation of its national SME development strategy, the Government of the DRC obtained a loan from the International Development Association (IDA) to finance the "Support Project for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises", PADMPME.
Created in 2005, following the evaluation forum of the Congolese Women's Caucus, CAFCO is a platform of women from civil society and political parties committed to the promotion of women's specific human rights and the protection of the population's welfare.
The first week of October 2022, UN Women gave business registers to the first cohort of women who volunteered for formalization with the support of CAFCO. The event took place in the Mont Ngafula commune in Kinshasa.

Créé en 2005, suite au forum d'évaluation du Caucus des femmes congolaises, CAFCO est une plateforme de femmes de la société civile et des partis politiques engagés dans la promotion des droits humains spécifiques des femmes et la protection du bien-être de la population.
La première semaine d'octobre 2022, ONU Femmes a remis des registres commerciaux à la première cohorte de femmes qui se sont portées volontaires pour la formalisation avec le soutien de CAFCO. L'événement a eu lieu dans la commune de Mont Ngafula à Kinshasa.

Discovery Bay is a primarily residential development located on Lantau Island in Hong Kong, beside Tai Pak Bay and Yi Pak Bay.
Covering 649 hectares Discovery Bay is made up of low-, mid- and high-rise residential developments, a 27-hole golf course, a 262-berth marina, two clubhouses, man made beach, international schools, and two shopping malls.
Around 20,000 people live at Discovery Bay, predominately expatriates, with over 50% of residents non-Chinese. The development is linked to the rest of Hong Kong by privately operated ferries and buses.

Quito (Pichincha), 27 junio 2017.- El Registro Civil implementó su Agencia Virtual que tiene como objetivo ampliar y facilitar el acceso. El subdirector General del Registro Civil, Claudio Prieto, explicó que los documentos generados a través de este portal, son firmados electrónicamente y se podrán autenticar en línea, evitando que los documentos sean alterados. Inicialmente ofrece certificados de nacimiento, matrimonio y unión de hecho, en formato electrónico (PDF), con una tarifa de 3 dólares por documento. Las formas de pago habilitadas para esta primera fase son: dinero electrónico (efectivo desde mi celular) y, al momento, tarjetas de crédito MasterCard y Visa, de cualquier banco emisor. The ‘Global NDC Conference 2017: integrated governance, finance and transparency for delivering climate goals’ took place in Berlin, Germany, from 2 – 6 May 2017. The conference was jointly organized by the LEDS GP, the GIZ Support Project for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement (SPA), and the UNDP Low Emission Capacity Building (LECB) Programme, in collaboration with the NDC Partnership.

El 15 de diciembre 2011 se dio la apertura a la Playa del Deporte, implementada por la Casa del Deporte y la Universidad Andrés Bello, es una iniciativa única en Chile, que se ubica frente al Club Naval de Campo Las Salinas, infraestructura que se complementa con la Cuarta Etapa del Parque del Borde Costero, permitiendo una continuidad y mayor presencia de público en las actividades y talleres que en ella se realizarán.
El recinto contará este año con un court central para mil personas cómodamente sentadas donde se podrán realizar actividades de fútbol, vóleibol y rugby.
Además durante todo el día habrá talleres deportivos y actividades físicas dirigidas a los menores y adultos.

To celebrate Valentine's Day, Mike and I booked a weekend getaway to Fredericksburg. On our first morning in town, we paid a visit to the Pioneer Museum (325 W. Main St). The museum complex features 10 historic buildings, including the Kammlah Barn. Here, you can see some metalworking implements stored in the wooden structure on the side of the barn.
A few details on the homestead and barn according to the brochure we received onsite:
Kammlah Homestead
In its original location on Main Street, the Kammlah Homestead includes the house, smokehouse, and barn. The Kammlahs were among the early Germans to settle in Fredericksburg. Four generations lived in the house. The Kammlah Homestead became the nucleus of the Pioneer Museum when the Gillespie County Historical Society purchased it in 1955.
Kammlah Barn
It is believed the Kammlah family's barn was built between 1855 and 1880. A chicken house, clothesline, and a large family garden once stood on this site.

"The Ulster American Folk Park is an open-air museum just outside Omagh, in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. With more than 30 exhibit buildings to explore, the museum tells the story of three centuries of Irish emigration. Using costumed guides and displays of traditional crafts, the museum focuses on those who left Ulster for America in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The museum is part of National Museums Northern Ireland.
Within the museum there are many restored, original buildings with connections to local families. The park was developed around the Mellon House, the birthplace of Irish-American banker and lawyer Thomas Mellon, founding father of the Mellon banking dynasty. This house and its outbuildings remain in their original location. Visitors can taste samples of traditional Irish and pioneer American foods including freshly baked soda bread and pumpkin pie all made on the hearths and griddles of the exhibit buildings. The museum also includes agricultural displays and an array of farm animals."
The part of the museum I thought was interesting and well done is the transition from Ireland to America. As you work through the exhibits of buildings you reach a port town where you enter the bowels of a ship such as emigrants would have taken. Once out of the ship you have reached North America and buildings and exhibits continue from there. The transition is quite well done.

Building on the ‘Ecosystem Landscaping to advance the Accountability to implement the Women’s Empowerment Principles in ASEAN’, the WeEmpowerAsia programme, UN women jointly develops and will disseminate the Building Pathways to Gender Equality and Sustainability through the Women's Empowerment Principles: Thailand Policy Brief (hereafter referred as ‘Thailand Policy Brief’) with key partners, namely the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP).
Gender Responsive Procurement (GRP) is one of the initiatives recommended in the Thailand Policy Brief. GRP can identify, incorporate and support women business owners seeking to access government/corporate procurement contracts. In support of the initiative, UN Women and Kenan Foundation Asia will host the “IDEA to I do”, a business presentation competition for selected women entrepreneurs, to showcase the capacity of WOB and WLB developed under WeEmpowerAsia Programme as means to promote women’s participation in supply chain. Winners will receive the WeRise Awards and the prizes are comprised of one winner, one first runner-up and one second runner-up.
