She looked so much like a genie in the original image, that I thought I might as well give her a tweak and a home/background.

The Sanibel Causeway is a causeway in Southwest Florida that spans the San Carlos Bay, connecting Sanibel Island with the Florida mainland in Punta Rassa. The causeway consists of three separate two-lane bridge spans, and two man-made causeway islands between them. The entire causeway facility is owned by Lee County and operated by the Lee County Department of Transportation. The entire causeway is three miles long from end to end, and currently has a $6 toll in effect for island-bound vehicles only. The bridges are not individually named, and are simply referred to as bridges A, B, and C.

While awaiting any appearance by the herons/egrets on the lake, today, I whiled my time framing up dragonflies against the bright highlights of the sunlit lake. I liked this view due to the repeated vegetation shapes at left and right, and their evocation of Indonesian shadow puppets.

You Can't Push the Bokeh

.. or maybe you can.. ;-)

I used a technique outlined by Dan Margulis in his book on using the Lab Color mode in Photoshop CS2 to drive the colors to smoother cleaner richer extremes, then pull them back from the brink, creating dramatic rich colors.

LAB color isn't a photoshop exclusive, and it's Quite possible that other programs can pull this off easily.. all that was required was layers and curves, after converting to LAB color mode from RGB mode, to get these colors..

Here's a review of the book:

Developing further on an image called 'A Baroque Dream' - I rendered out a more detailed version of the ballroom/banquet hall image you see here, using Daz Studio.

I've got a new shoot coming up with Sarah-Jane soon in order to produce some pics for some tutorial pieces I've been asked to produce for a Photoshop magazine being published in the UK and Europe. Very exciting :)

Now this is what I call taking a walk on the wild side!

I see this one as a kind of a dark echo of my recent comp 'Dog day afternoon' but with more... 'cat' :)

Just spent a few hours enjoying making something that the raw materials came from a day in the lakes several weeks ago. Oh how I enjoy messing around with modern tools! The lakes at their best, with the langdales in the distance!

Composite of 2 images, using the moon-shot from the day of the eclipse, and a winter scene from Caledon.

Okay so it might be a bit over-the-top, but I was just messing around with filters and stuff.. and I liked this! View On Black

This is the first in a series of abstract works that embrace the themes of infinity and representations of 'spatiality'. The series speaks to the terrain beyond my more conventional 'realist-representational' approach to photography. The physical location for this photograph was the wonderful library at St Augustine College of South Africa. www.staugustine.ac.za/

Textured photo. All photos shot by me and combined together in PS. I repeat , all photos shot by me, means no editable or 3d or whatever. All are from nature ;) This is a composition, the concept is like people took variety of trees and composed them in a garden ;)

Once again, big thank you to Model Georgia Stanwix by Cathleen Tarawhiti

A progression of the last upload 'The last of his kind'. The white tiger cub has grown up and must find his way to safer lands.

Have chopped up a couple of my Dartmoor pics and spliced them together to create a much wider panoramic image for my subjects to inhabit this time. So add to that a shot of Georgia Stanwix by Cathleen Tarawhiti and a CGI white tiger with about 7hrs of photoshopping later, here it all is :)
