On the computer made image of myself I did the following:

Began with "charcoal" script in Gimp as background layer then rest done with the following GMIC filters: "Painting" "Random Color Ellipses" (the hair), and can't remember exact filter but spent a lot of time in GMIC's 'Artistic' and 'Patterns' section.

A little photoshop manipulation of an earlier picture. By auto-adjusting the levels parameter, a good deal of the colouring comes back. One suggestion is to reduce the EV when shooting into the light (difficult at the time as I wasn't aware whether I was...)

it was an adventure.

and when i'm on adventures, i'm a day behind with photoshopping my 365s, but i'm still DOing them. knowwhatimean?

so i've been thinking on the obama choosing all these people everyone's angry about to be part of his team and all i can say is... he said there'd be a change. and all us liberals thought he meant a change for US. but he meant a change for EVeryone. even republicans. republicanlike changes that won't be yayhooray changes for our side, too.

it's not about who he's picking, it's about how they work together. and it seems to me like there are lots of ideas going into this thing.

This was a grab shot, with my pocket Canon 35 mm. We were walking back to our hotel in the French Quarter after having begneis (sp?) . The locale is just up the street to the right of the Cathedral. After crossing in front of her something stuck in my mind and when I got between the cars acrross the street from here I turned and there was the composition. I did do a some tweaking and improvements in Photoshop. The lamp wasn't lit, and the sidewalkj was blown out with highlights, as well as the color of her skirt was to musted in the negative.

We got there right after a very cold freeze that had gripped this whole area of the country. Here in Austin, Texas it had gotten down to 18 degrees F. Evidently it had done the same in N.O. All the pipes were frozen and we were cautioned by our hotel to not flush until later that night.
